  2. nooooooooooooooo!!! i wont have my seat mounts until monday anyways(d**n bass pro shop, 3 day shipping my a**). sitting on the benches is very uncomfortable. im also trying to find a nice mount to put my trolling motor on the front too that wont look like crap. suppossed to be 56* on monday and 60* on tuesday.
  3. havent been out since sunday, but the fishing was good last weekend. fish were fat. derek, you make it to otternick yet?
  4. crank the minikings as slow as posable. you should feel the rocks and be pulling out some weeds if your doing it right.
  5. those things are killer. picked up two more tonight. for 1.96 at walmart you cant go wrong. bet they would be killer on your pond. wait for the wind to die down. will hopefully have my seats mounted by the weekend. decided to pass on the foot controlled trolling motor. too big and too heavy.
  6. i checked out a minn kota 55# maxxum foot controled trolling motor for $100 on craigslist. i dont know what i was thinking, but that thing is so huge and heavy that i think im just gona mount my hand controlled on the front for now. i ordered a bigfoot switch and quick release seat mounts. also got some rod holders.
  7. got the jon. check my previouse post. been hearing alot about water getting inside the plastic boats. hope i made the right desicion.
  8. derek, i might be heading out to big island pond tomorow after work but if youd like to hit flints or otternick later in the week let me know.
  9. caught a bunch of crappie. biggest one was 1.8#'s. the wind was driving us crazy. back is killing me from sitting on the benchs.
  10. we went to flints pond again this morning and we caught 11 fish. 4 bass, 4 pickeral, 2 perch and a sunfish. love those mini spinnerbaits. nothing big but we had fun even with the 15mph winds. got to try out the new boat. its a little cramped like expected but im sure we'll get used to it. boat only weighs 74#'s wich is nice. i still need to mount the seats. were heading out to lovewell to do so crappie fishing after lunch.
  11. thanks again guys. probably wont try a pedastal till the waters warmer. first priority after gettint the seats mounted is finding a used foot controled trolling motor.
  12. thanks. i plan on using the one i used with my old boat(32#mk hand control) on the back until i can find a deal on a used foot controled one. got a 2.2hp mercury for the back too.
  13. my 10' jon weights 75 pounds. wouldnt want to carry it too far. have you thought about getting a kyak? most of the cheep ones ive seen weigh around 40 pounds. you could get a strap and carry it like a guitar. just an idea.
  14. very slow. slow it down untill you feel it just banging off the rocks and or are picking up weeds, then speed it up just enough to keep it off the bottom. also i prefere a colorado blade. seems to make more comotion at slow speeds. where are you fishing? do you make it up to westford or tyngsboro?
  15. thanks wagon. when you reschedualing the tournament? hows the river been? we need to ALL get together and fish!!
  16. welcom to the forum. weve been having our best luck with strike king-mini kings, black/blue spinnerbaits about 20-30 from the shore. watch your fishfinder and cast wherever you see a dropoff or any radical change in depth.
  17. i couldnt wait to get the raider so i went out and bought a 10' grumman jon. all the seams are welded. the guy painted it over the weekend and gave me the leftover paint. theres no cracks or repairs anywhere. the transom is real solid. i need to buy new seat brackets to mount my seats still and i treated myself to a new set of straps. paid $200. got the same for mine and this ones in way better shape.

  19. well, just sold mt boat. :'( i dont have enough money to buy a raider right now so im going to check out a welded 10' jon this afternoon. figures, today weather is perfect for fishing. wish me luck.
  20. thanks. the chain is only 4" off the ground. you can carry your boat over it. theres a sign that says "road closed", but nothing about "no fishing". water is real dark. pulled out alot of black weeds. seems to also be another plant taking over.
  21. thanks. we fished both. most were caught 20-30 ft from the shore. caught one in the middle. we went back out to otternick in hudson for an hour and caught a few more bass and pickeral. wife also caught a big bluegill. she caught the biggest fish, again. check out the belly. the weed weed kill doesnt seem to have effected the fishery. also, i sold that old outboard.
  22. got out to flints pond in hollis with the wife for a couple hours this morning. we caught 13 fish altogether. most were pickeral but we managed a few small bass. everything was caught on spinnerbaits. it started raineing so we headed back to the launch. on the way back we both hooked onto some large pickeral at the same time. wifes was 2.5 and mine was 1.4. the bass wernt worth photographing. this is my wifes PB pickeral.
