  1. Congrats on your first of the year!
  2. No they were actually pretty deep. They were hugging close to small rock piles on the bottom, and I caught them on a shakey head set-up.
  3. Thanks for the kind words everyone, I hope you guys are all having some luck too.
  4. I went out a few days ago on a rare January outing. I caught 12 bass, and most of them were small except for the one in the picture. It was great to be able to start the year so early! The fish was 20.5 inches and 4 lbs 3 oz.
  5. Nice fish, I'm sure it was nice to get back on the water again
  6. Cool video, that was a good one for sure
  7. People talk about bass being footballs, but that bass is a football and a half
  8. Those are definitely some great fish that you've been catching goose, congrats!
  9. Great fish! The teeth on that bass look pretty wicked though
  10. Nice catch! I wish I lived closer, because I would definitely give it a go, if I did
  11. 2011: Caught the most bass I ever have in one year (667), caught a new pb (6lb 12oz), and my buddy and I won our first tournament together 2012: Learn how to fish a dropshot, Catch more bass than I did this year, catch an 8 pounder, win more tournaments, and have the most overall weight at the end of the year in my tournament trail
  12. Looks like you had a really good year, congrats!
  13. This is how I am too. When one of my buddies' is killing it and I'm not getting bites I get a little frustrated with that because I feel like I'm doing something incorrectly, and maybe I am. However I like it much better when everyone I'm fishing with gets in on the action, and when I'm doing well I don't smack talk because I know what it's like to be on the other end once in a while.
  14. Nice, I have a Dobyns SS693SF on one of my spinning combos and it's definitely one of my favorite rods
  15. I have a digital berkley scale with a lip-grip and it seems to work pretty well for me. Cost me $50.
  16. Congrats on a great bag! I do a lot of jig fishing myself, what's the new rod that you're using?
  17. Congrats on a nice fish! But x 2 on Jeff's comment
  18. Great fish, and congrats!
  19. Until the lakes freeze over
  20. Sounds like a good outing, hopefully next time you can keep the big one on
  21. I hope you get on em', let us know how it goes
  22. Great looking fish looks like it was a blast!
  23. I don't fish with live bait often, but I have to believe that it's definitely worth a try. The best baits during the fall for me are lipless cranks and spinnerbaits thrown near shad. I try to have my crankbait hitting the bottom anytime I can. The best areas for me seem to be in the backs of coves that have shad (I usually throw spinnerbaits in this area), sand flats or rocky shorelines (these are the areas where I bounce my crank off the bottom), and also drop offs that have structure on the shoreline (preferably rocks) before it drops off (I fish jigs or a texas rigged plastic on the drop offs). Hope this helps
