  1. Looks like you guys had a fun trip to start the year, congrats
  2. I've fished tipton quite a few times, and I actually live in Northpoint which is where I caught that bass. There used to be quite a few close to that size in there but there aren't that many anymore :'(. And thanks for the invite I'd love to go fishing with you sometime.
  3. Wow you guys sure sleighed the wipers
  4. @brushhoggin I wish I could have but the place I was fishing is catch and release only @nice_Bass I was fishing my neighborhood pond
  5. Thanks Grey Wolf, and A-Jay I'm not quite sure. It thawed around February 21 so I'm guessing somewhere between 35 and 40 degrees.
  6. Alright thanks for the info
  7. I caught it on a cotton cordell big O
  8. I was able to fish here in Illinois a few times this past week, and yesterday was my best trip by far. I went to a local pond and caught a few smaller bass, a 13 inch crappie, and a 21 inch bass. Needless to say I was stoked to be able to do this in February. http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb392/bassmaster102/21inlargemouthbass25mg.jpg http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb392/bassmaster102/13inwhitecrappie5mg.jpg
  9. I don't know anything about the resort, but I would experiment with a baitcaster on your own time. It takes a little while to learn how to use a breaking system and then cast with it. Wouldn't want you to miss out on any lunkers while trying to figure out a new reel.
  10. @ nice_Bass were you fishing from shore or a boat when you went to clinton?
  11. Very nice! I will definitely be giving clinton a try soon
  12. I would have to say it depends on what time of the year it is, and how big the lake is. (I assume you are talking about fishing it now)
  13. Funny that you and your nephew named your fish one eye joe because a few friends and I named a bass we used to catch all the time one eyed willy
  14. I really like city limits fishings, and hunt for big fish with larry dahlberg
  15. I don't know much about either of those lakes, but I see that you live in Illinois and Newton Lake is a great lake. I've fished there just three times and I caught my new personal best on one of those trips. If you're interested in going somewhere closer to home I'd give that a shot if you haven't already. 8-)
  16. I would definitely take the 9 pounder any day of the week
  17. Thanks for the info, sounds like a great place to fish when the water level is normal.
  18. Looks like that was a great trip. Nice job! What area of Mexico were you fishing?
  19. I would have to say the strangest things I've reeled in have been: rocks, old fishing rods, and canned food cans
  20. I definitely agree with fishing the clearer water. I've been fishing some local ponds, and I've definitely been catching the most fish in the ponds where the water is clear.
  21. I've had my best luck fishing fairly shallow off of points with shelves, and by following the bait fish. The baits that I usually have the most luck with are: gold, silver, and bluegill colored lipless crankbaits, white spinnerbaits, and jigs.
  22. Hopefully clinton's good otherwise because there's really nowhere else to try
