How well would this rod work for flippin?
It would probably be o.k...depending on how thick the cover is, and the size of the fish.

What Type of rod for larger/heavier swimbaits
Check out the Irod 783sb, 7'8" . I was tossing my 6" hud (2oz) mabye a touch more, and the rod I found had good action, and would cast really well, likely due to the somewhat softer tip. I paired that rod with a Diawa tatlua 200 with 17lb sufix camo. I almost bought the fury, but I prefer the handle on the Irod. I've owned Dobyns swimbait rods in the past, and If I decide to start tossing 8-10" huds, I will likely go with the Irod again.

Chatterbaits size
Yup, key is to stop the spool a split second Before the lure hits the water, then start reeling. Doing this will keep the bait/lure just sub surface..

Backlash
Scott, where I fish, we usually get fairly strong winds. Lighter braid is susceptible to wind knots. Granted lighter braid may cast a bit further, and fishing from shore longer cast's are a good thing 99% of the time. I stopped using light braid years ago..If it works for you..great, but it won't in some cases.

20 lb braid on a baitcaster isn't the best combo..although you can get away with it until...it gets windy, or you tie on to light of a bait..40 lb braid would be better. Also, check your settings on your reel when throwing different weight lures to compensate..And keep your cast's as low, or parallel to the water as possible.

Knot for heavy flurocarbon
I'll use 17lb sometimes, mostly 15 lb...San Diego jam knot. Although I have used a uni, but 99% of the time an SD knot.

7’3” or 7’6” for jigs
7 footer for me..I agree, your height has nada to do with the length of rod when casting.

Sniper FC too much memory
Spooled my spinning reel (2500) with 8lb sniper. Went fishing for a few hrs. at the local park lake. Line cast's well, 0 memory, until....A nice gust of wind came along as I was casting, I was watching my line hit the water and didn't notice a good sized wind loop/ knot until I had reeled in about 3 or 4 yards of line argh!!..couldn't get the knot out. But I'm pretty happy with the line so far. BTW, no line conditioner used.
