  1. Not until I break a rod, or need a reel upgrade, which could be years.. ;D
  2. I see nothing wrong with the distance your getting so far. More important, is your accuracy..
  3. So, it's not meant for bearings..? Otherwise, can you see a difference in smoothness, and or casting performance.?
  4. Has anyone tried the reelx lube..?
  5. No, cuz we'er talkin baitcaster's here.. ;D
  6. Yeah, but yuou have to count the 300's, after all, they are Curado's too..
  7. Ha..I throw swimbaits with my Chronarch..I have the 101bpv though. I also use for flippin and pitchen, does a great job for both..
  8. There's some BR advertisers here that make some very nice jig's. Might wanna check em out..
  9. Patriarch, is limited in their selection for leftys, only the 7:1 is available.. Where as the Curado has more choices..And I happen to like the green sparkly finish on mine..
  10. I have both of those you mentioned, and they work just fine. I find that you really have to watch what you buy with regards to reaction innovation's products.. :
  11. Made by reaction inovations. I bought some of these in 1/4 oz the other day..anyway, I tried using them yesterday, and found the spring to secure a bait, was really hard to get a worm or any other bait on the small screw. I tried pulling the spring out a tad, as it was nearly impossible to get anything on without pulling it out some. I have other jigheads with them, and won't be buying the R.I. jig heads anymore. Anyone else use these..?
  12. Kinda tough to pick just one co... Ragetail aka Strikeking. Zoom GYBC Those would be my top 3.
  13. Why not use the "soft" version, i.e. the ultrasoft..? I have been using the ultrasoft for every application, in test's from 4 to 20 lb youzuri hybrid ultrasoft. I have also used different fluro's, and I find that the ultrasoft catches fish just as well, and has a much higher abrasion resistance, especially around rocks.
  14. The Seaguar lines are fairly limp, and cast well on both reels. I would prefer the Seaguar to Trilene. My only complaint about the Seaguar is the abrasion resistance around rocks.
  15. Well, over the last year, it seems that when there's a full moon, in the Shallow city lakes I fish, the bite pretty much is non existent. I have to think that it's possible the bass are feeding heavily at night..?
  16. I had the Shimano Clarus, until I broke the tip off.. :-[ It was a 7'6", 2pc spinning rod. I used it for freshwater, and saltwater bay fishing. Never had any problems with it, nor did I feel it was any less sensitive compared to a 1 pc Clarus, which sell for about 80.00.
  17. You can put 7'6" rods in the xtra cab..and 8 footers if there isn't a passenger..
  18. I was gonna say..a 60.00 handle on a reel that's worth 35.00 within 1 yr. of purchase..sorry, just doesn't make sense to me..
  19. Outside of some swimbaits, and a new 7'6" Clarus rod. Picked up a Curado 301E today, for my heavy swimbait rod. 8-)
  20. Buy the 300 yd spools. Use about 40 or 50 yds of cheap mono backing...saves $$$
  21. I would save up 30.00 more, and get a Shimano Clarus..Lifetime warranty.
  22. In salt, it's all about the tide, especially in the bays. For fw bass..I have found that full moons aren't such a swell time to get a good bite..
  23. I use the 2 you mentioned. I have also used a size 2 circle hook. never had any problems, and yep you don't need to really set the hook, just apply pressure. never had a fish come off using those hooks. Lately, I have been buying the owner hooks..
  24. I doubt he's casting 70 yards..I will admit, he does amazing things with a rod & reel. Call me skeptical.
