  1. Actually the bps extrem isn't bad for the $$$ I have one that's 2 yrs old and still works fine. Only thing is the friction adjustment knob needs to be adjusted alot compared to say, a JM model, or a higher priced reel. I'm not a big fan of magnetic brakes either..
  2. JFYI...no boats are allowed in park lakes. Also..it Never rains in Cali... ;D
  3. Has anyone used it..I think it's the H20..Haven't seen it mentioned..comments.?
  4. Only one I've used is the Sedona...nice reel for the $$ I also have the Sharha, little bit nicer, imho..
  5. Everyway you can think of...
  6. You can also use a circle hook with a splitshot just above the hook.
  7. KVD could cast between his legs and still be accurate.. ;D Seriously, just experiment, My Son cast's backhand..I could never get good distance like that.. Find a style that works for you.
  8. O.K...I fished one of the most pressured park ponds this afternoon. I took 1 spinning rig spooled with 4lb 100% fluro. I won't say what lure I used, but it was a craw type. I fished painfully slow, casted toward the deepest part, maybe 5' deep. I then hit the what could be called the points.. I fished where I knew some structure was, which is very little. I then went against my better judgment, and tossed my lure slightly past a rounded point, I kept the lure about 3' from shore, working it paralell..in a bottom bouncing motion, lifting the lure about a foot off the bottom (water is approx. 3-4' deep)..and BAM!!! a nice 4lb'r, not 3 mins. later, same area, another, maybe 3 or ..2 mins later, a 2 1/2 lb'r get nailed. So the fish are there, it's finding them, and presenting the right bait in the way they want it. I have to give credit to Paul for the above, as I would probably not fished so close to shore, if it wern't for his comment earlier. Explore all areas of the water!
  9. I have the 2500 Sharha on a 6'6" MF..6 lb yoZuri ultrasoft. I use it for most plastic's i.e. DS, T ridg, C rig ect...I think the 2500 is the way to go.

  11. Kent...I tried "big & huge" no worky.. :-[ I could swear all the bass in park lakes have Lockjaw..for some reason. :'(
  12. I have the RC 7'MF bc worm rod..I've had it for about a year..for the $$$ it's o.k...If I had to do over again, I would spend a few more bucks and get a Shimano..I paid 100.00 for mine, If you can get it for 80.00, I'd go for it.
  13. I also fish these city parks, and the bite is Extremly hard right now..I would do what Crestliner suggested. Small baits and fish em REALLY slow..impart NO action..long pause's between cranks. Sunrise or night is your best bet. Oh..I would suggest 4 lb fluro for the leader..Sorry Crestliner..
  14. X 2 I do 6 loops on the braid, and 8 on the mono.
  15. Did you spool the line on the reel in the same direction it came off the line spool..? If not, that creates some problems.
  16. We will keep an eye on the flea market... ;D
  17. Details..?? Overrun..? at the begining of a cast=not enough braking. Overrun toward the end of a cast=spool friction knob..Set the brakes all the way on, then slowly turn the spool friction knob until the lure falls slowly to the ground, when it hits the ground there shouldn't be a overrun, if so, then slightly tighten the friction knob. Cast with it a few times, if you do o.k., then back off the friction a tad...when you get no overruns,, then back off the brakes 1 click at a time.
  18. A jigging rig is usually a heavier rod, and a baitcaster, most use a 7 to 8' rod and heavy line. I have 2 set ups for worms, 1 baitcaster, and a spinning rig, I use mainly for light finesse, and flylining plastic's. I also use 4lb fluro on it. So, no I wouldn't try and use 1 rig for both types of fishing.
  19. Baitcaster..although you can do both with a spinning set up. IMHO the baitcaster gives you a more controled feeling.
  20. Oh..I thought you were his accountant or something.. ;D
  21. Although this has been covered a few times, still worth mentioning....your THUMB is the key..train it and the overruns/birdsnests will just about disapear.. Find a casting style that you like..i.e. I like to throw sidearm, I have the worst luck casting overhead...lol
  22. Just pointing out that, there's really no limits on what a person can market. Curious, how do Know all profits went to charity.?
  23. One example is Boyd Duckett leaving E-21 ALLEDGEDLY because they were not building the rods to his liking and he did not want to be associated with the poorer quality rods being sold. I say allegedly because unless you work for E-21 or are Mr. Duckett himself, you don't know the whole story. The other extreme is KVD who has his name on who knows how many products. I'll bet even he doesn't know. I'm not criticizing him at all, you don't get to his position being a lousy fisherman. When you see KVD Barbeque Sauce in the supermarket, then you know they've gone too far. Remember Paul Newman the actor/racecar driver...well, he came out with BBQ sauce, and salad dressing..In todays world, Nothing would surprise me.
