  1. I for one could throw just about anything with a rod like that.."multipurpose".. IMHO, a good all around rod..
  2. I agree with Crestliner, although I also recomend the Diawa Samuri braid..it's not as waxey, and much limper, makes for longer cast's..Depending on the structure/cover in the lakes/ponds you fish, you could get by with a quaily fluro, or co polymer..YoZuri Hybrid Ultrasofy is a good line, I use 6# on my spinning rig. If your water has rocks, stick ups ect. then I'd go with the braid. Welcome aboard...
  3. Mine is a 7'6" Calcutta mhf rod, Chronarch 101 reel. Never throw anything over 2 ozs.. One thing you guys might consider re: line is, Diawa Samuri braid, with a short (5' or less) fluro leader. The Samuri 55 # is really Limp, makes for Loooonnngg cast's. I use 12# 100% fluro for my 5' leader..
  4. Different strokes, for different folks... And, there's always the "search" feature to help people find info. for common questions.
  5. Nah, I think he hit the saltwater instead..
  6. After seeing the pic's of you 2 guys stuff, mine would look like...........well, not much...lol Plus my stuff is a mess..
  7. Lunker and Mojo make these ds weights, they have a swivel built in..just run the line through the eyelet and tug...done...makes life easy when ds'n..
  8. Always nice to have the older gents, join up..we need more of us..lol Welcome to THE best bass site there is. If it's info. you want, look up in the lefthand corrner of the page...click on fishing articles..that shoul;d keep you busy for a week.. ;D Enjoy your stay.
  9. A motorized hero cam that lets you see fish in a 180 degree scope..
  10. Great read Glenn.. Why on earth would anyone throw their plastics overboard..? Just think of all the snagged baits underwater..I wonder if this is partly to blame for some of the floaters I see..
  11. You guys might want to look at the Diawa Samuri braid..very soft compared to other braids. The 55# is the same as 12# mono. 40# is the same as 8# mono.
  12. I think your best bet is to let a pro service it..
  13. I use the uni to uni on my swimbait rig..55 # braid to 12# fluro..I think I'll give this a knot a try. Also, braid is hard to cut clean with the clippers and siccors I have, what do you guys use..?
  14. YoZuri Hybrid Ultrasoft 6# on my spinnin rigs.. YoZuri 10#ultrasoft on my baitcaster 55# Diawa Samuri braid with a 12 # leader of trilene 100% fluro on my swimbait rig
  15. Learned on my own basiclly, had a friend that got me into it. I watched all the fishing shows, and read everything that pertained to bass fishing. Even to this day I still learn, thanks to you guys/gals, and a few of the fishing shows. I started bass fishing at Piru Lake in so. cal..
  16. A few of us will be there....Bass fishing of course..
  17. Clear to semi stained water...no rattles for me..I fish 1/4 to 1/2 oz..depending on what I need.
  18. I would have to agree with the others..gettin the "secrets" ect for local water would be neat..One guy I would like to talk to though, would be Mike Long.
  19. Your right, just got caught up in the excitment..lol I also use jigs, spinnerbaits, and chatterbaits..in gill colors.
  20. I have a few of Matt's soft baits....same deal there..they work..
  21. Different strokes, for different folks.. In the end, nobody I know was ever sorry they bought the best they could afford. Shimmano bashing..? Where's Muddy..lol ;D I am also a carpenter, and have never bought cheap tools. There's usually a reason why better stuff cost's more.
  22. Fat Ika 5" Senco Flappin Hog Huddrelston 6" weedless trout Double willow Shad skirtedSpinnerbait
  23. Try a double UNI...goes through the guides with ease..and it's strong.. I use it for braid with a fluro leader.
  24. Well, I know it's not from lack of skillz...that's why I said that.. Well believe it. I have two left in my tackle bag and have not bothered to even tie one on in over a year. I've got other things that seem to do a better job.
  25. I don't see the cracker as a bait like Matt's either..both are good, Matt's is much more life like. The 'Cracker is a nice bait, but surely you dont rank it above a Mattlures Hard Gill for actually imitating a live bluegill....
