  1. Every which way but loose... ;D T rig, C rig, Dropshot, T rig weightless (flyline). Use them as a trailer on jigs for a Big profile. Did I forget anything..?
  2. I have a 2pc Shimano Clarus spinning rod..mlxf..I have caught 5lb bass with it..plus a bunch of smaller bass...never had any issues with it. I don't have to worry about transporting issues, so in the end, I prefer 1pc rods. I think the better rods, are o.k...I wouldn't buy a 2 pc cheapie..
  3. Haaa, try Riding over that stuff on a motorcycle..I got lucky.. ;D
  4. I tired vanish about a year ago...so bad I didn't even mention it...it just Vanished..lol
  5. I'm lost...why do you need to "pinch" the line..? Just tie a palomar and leave the tag end however long you want.. I haven't had any issues with trilene 100% yet.

    Dats kewl...
  7. Hmmm, be kinda tough to vote IF you haven't tried them all..and I haven't..just the trilene 100%..
  8. Whatever line you use on spinning reels. Depends on the size of the reel. A 2500 for example 10lb would be max..I use anywhere from 4 to 8 lb depending on what I want to do..i.e. if the water is clear, and the fishing is tough, I'll use 4lb fluro, stained, I usually use 6 lb, 8 ln if there's a tad more cover ect. On a size 4000 you can get away with 10 easy, if you feel the need to use it, i.e. heavy cover, rocks ect. Personally, if I need to go to 10lb, I'll break out the baitcaster..for most situations. Oh....haven't used that, I do like the YoZuri Hybrid Ultrasoft though..
  9. Braid/ superlines should not affect guides on better rods. They only afferct the cheaper guides.
  10. I have braid on my swimbait rig. 55# braid with 12lb fluro..I also use a uni to uni knot to attach the fluro to the braid..Although I fish stained water 99% of the time..I like the leader for a shock absorber. No stretch with braid, makes it a good line to use for any bottom fishing imho..
  11. To keep my plastic's soft..I smear em with MegaStrike..then put em in a zip lok baggie..
  12. I dunno..I use a palomar for 4 & 12 lb fluro..so far...so good. You could try a double palomar..
  13. Do also have a Nail straightener too...??? ;D
  14. I think I NEED to make a trip to that store soon..Orignal Dr.Pepper is callin my name..lol

I kinda glanced through all the post's, but didn't find any mention of this...If you plan on getting a handgun, I would recomend to take a safety cousre, like the one the NRA has. Also a home defense course might be worth looking into. You'd be surprised what folks do when they are under pressure.

  19. Good info fellas...I don't experience short strikes that often. I was reading a thread on spinnerbaits, and the thought of short strikes entered my head, so, I thought I would ask what your opinions are on the subject. As usual ...lots of good info...hope this helps someone that experiences short strikes for Amature fish..lol
