  1. Really a jointed crank bait.. ;D
  2. And.............................?
  3. I've thrown spinnerbaits, and 1/2oz cranks with my spinning rig that has 6lb yozuri on it...just be careful.. ;D

I agree, I've gone from MMII to babybass, to oxblood and still got fish. Cracks me up when fishing reports say...so and so lake is taking bass on purple plastic's..well if they hit purple, they'll hit most aby color, at least in my experience.
  5. What if he was wanting Bigger baits..? 6" Huddelston, and Mattlures soft swimbaits are a good start. You pretty much go up in price from there...btw, where's the OP..?
  6. Tip speed can be a personal choice..I like the xf on most of my rods, others prefer a fast, which is a good way to go imho..You can always sell, and buy a xf if you feel the need.
  7. I got a couple from Anglers Marine...I used a 7/0 ewg..worked fine.
  8. I've used 6 to 12lb...10 should be fine..
  9. Depends on what size baits your gonna toss, but the Okuma is your best bet for about 110.00 at TW. Make sure you get a rod that's rated for the weight of the swimbaits you intend to use.
  10. I use either 4lb fluro when the bite is really Tough, or 6 lb yozuri ultrasoft..for dropshot or weightless roboworms..If you have little to no cover i.e. timber ect, then I'd go 4 lb, just make sure your drag is set properly..
  11. I have the Rapala needle nose pliers..they work fine, and I think they were 10.00 at wally world..?
  12. 8" swimbaits... ;D Seein how I don't have any baits left over from the early 80's.. :'(
  13. Agreed...but I do fish with a Chronarch 101..but having more line capacity is better.
  14. Be best to know what the forage is in the lakes you fish, also the structure, i.e. weeds, rocks, ect. Depth of the water. Do they stock trout..? There's some awesome swimbaits out there, choosing the right ones are the key. Mattlures makes some good lures, Huddelston, these are priced for most budgets. You can get into the high end baits, like the Rago baits that sell for 85.00 to 300.00. Also, you'll need a swimbait rig or 2 to throw them, depending on what sizes of swimbaits you need.
  15. FWIW...we throw C rigs in 6' or less..here. Bottoms vary, rocks to silt, with weeds...baits, anything from 4" finesse worms to 12" anaconda's...I like ragetail lizards the best.
  16. Welcome aboard Glenn, always good to have a Ca. guy on here..All kinds of info. and some of the best Bass fisherperson's for advice. Enjoy..

50/50 bleach and water..will kill the mildew. Not sure about doing any harm to your boat.
  18. Diesel's are made for towing.. With slight modifcations..mine has 780 ft lb's of tourqe. There's no Smog requierments, no tune ups to speak of. The down side is, there aren't as many gas staions that have #2 diesel..
  19. Chevy Duramax... I'll be waiting for Glenn's responce.. ;D
  20. Depends on the bait..example: if a 5" senco gets beat up, but there is a good 3" left, I'll reuse it, same for twintail's..ect..ceaws get tossed, unless I can trim them for a trailer. I also reuse roboworms. The short ones, i.e. 3" or so catch bluegills pretty well..
  21. Ahhh, I see your out there helping in the rod-reel and line forum... 8-)
  22. I definitly like this one better.. ;D
  23. Welp, there's 1 more, but unless your willing to spend the $$$ and put in the time...not worth it. Swimbait rig. You can get a good rod for 110.00, reel 120.00..baits...that's another story..lol they run from about 6.00 to 300.00 per. Anyways, just thought I'd put it out there..
  24. I'm always nice to everyone... 8-) Newb ?'s are always gonne get asked, deal with them. Outright rudness from some...well..imho that's when the Mods have to do their job sometimes. Also, some people feel alot more brave behind a keyboard. Ignore it.
