  1. Been there, done that...good info..
  2. 55# samuri braid..I use a 10 or 12 lb leader..mostly 12, even though the dia. of 12 is slightly larger, where the 10 is the same dia. as the braid.
  3. I bought some to, never caught a fish..better baits out there imho.
  4. I don't know if I'd classify them as Huge, but..keep in mind they weight 1.2 oz..which is perfect for my rig..
  5. Haven't used them, but I'm gonna...Just saw a underwater vid of that frog swiming, you can't believe how Real it swims..
  6. Should be fine..my rod is rated 10-20..I use 55# Samuri braid w/o any issues.
  7. Still shouldn't fly off. Now, my guess is he maybe slinging the rod to hard, in hopes of getting longer cast's..? The lighter the bait, the more you need to loosen the spool tension..
  8. Never had one fly off...if so, rigging is likely the problem.
  9. I don't take fish off their beds. Fishing in so. cal. It's down right funny, watching guys TRY to hook males, or females..99% FAIL..and I like that. Bass aren't stocked in the lakes I fish, bass have a tough time growing to make 3lbs around here..poachers, and people that fish illegally take plenty of bass, that we need..i.e. bass old enough to spawn. Just yesterday, some of the big girls were found floating, some were likely due to gut hooked bait & waiters, others, who knows..these fish ranged from 3 to 7 lbs. Sorry for the semi rant. I'd still like to catch bass in 5 yrs.
  10. Uhhh, my mistake, I mistakingly thought " spinning rig"...Doh! :-[
  11. You Can cast a 5" weightless Senco on a baitcaster, no problem..with the hook, IIRC the weight is about 1/2oz.
  12. Any of you guys make your chatterbaits weedless..? I never have. Wood is bad.. ;D
  13. I've thrown them on my worm rod..lol A 7'mf Rick Clunn bc..also have thrown them on my Shimano calcutta 7'6" mxf...that rod is rated 1/2-1oz 10-20lb test..lol It actually has some great feel to it, being that I use braid on it.
  14. Wichever YOU prefer, I use both..my Son throws his baitcaster only..
  15. FFD...I think that wrap is sweet...doesn't look to busy at all..
  16. Lol..kinda "overkill" dontcha think..? ;D
  17. These are usually city park lakes/ponds..not much "structure" except for some weeds, small branches, and the like..And yes, I have lost a couple of spinnerbaits, and 1 crank. I wouldn't use 8lb in a normal lake, I go to 12lb.
  18. Depends on what the fish want...I've caught fish on ...fast steady retrives, med paced, and a "jigging" type retrive..We have during some months, alot of weeds, which tend to foul a chatter bait, so I keep the retrive steady, and my rodtip high.
  19. IIRC it was in the flea market...have seen a couple others for 80.00 on other sites.
  20. YUp, have had mine for 9 months and have yet to catch a fish on it...I have the dirty shad, slowsink.
  21. I answered your thread re: tip speed...rods will vary, which makes it hard to answer a question like that unless you have a specific rod in mind.. Umm, yeah, for the $$$ you could hardly go wrong.
  22. Just a dumb ole Carpenter...
  23. Are one of those, a rod your planning on buying..?
  24. I've been using trilene 100% fluro, in 4 and 12lb...so far in the last month ( I know, it's not that long) I've had no issues. To be honest, I don't see much difference between the fluro, and the YoZuri ultrasoft I also use.
