  1. did you notice i said "decent" ;D ;D Sorry, didn't catch that..lol
  2. I agree, but. Most of the lakes that I fish are Heavily pressured, at any given time, there are hords of wouldbe anglers trying to get the big girls off their beds in shallow water. If you, or anyone that has any bassin skills saw some of these jokers, you'd have to be disappointed that these fools actually fish. All they do is distract the fish, and aggravate them so much, that they tend to keep moving off their beds..I refuse to do that. There have been more than a few floaters in one of the lakes, I'm talkin 6 to 8 lb bass..so we Need all the bass tha can spawn to do so. I'm not against bed fishing in a lake that can allow bass to breed. Most guys don't have a clue on how to bed fish anyways. Why my theory is if you release them there they swim right back to there beds I personally have seen this and do it a lot it has also been tested that bass have instinctive direction to there bed so even if you drift while the fish is in the boat on a windy day they can still find there way back however i do practice CPR (Catch Photo Release)
  3. Dunno bout them, I made the mistake of buying their 5" trout... :
  4. X 2...I need to order one of Tylers sunfish.

I bought some simular baits from bps, only they have a paddletail. Never even got a tap on them, that's not to say those in the link won't work. Welp, deadsticking is about the same..works great for floating swimbaits ect. I also use that technique for Senco's, craws and creatures, except in the warmer months when fish are activly feeding.
  6. Add to Favorites.. How is it labeled?

    Sounds that same as deadsticking..?
  8. Have you ever used Yozuri ultrasoft..? It's very manageable..that's only 1 reason why alot of us use it..
  9. Mojo and Lunker make ds weights. If you get snagged, you just lose the weight. I also prefer the pencil weights. Go as light as conditions will alllow, 1/2oz for deep water, 1/8-3/16 for 10' or less.
  10. I'm waiting to pick some up, along with some other ragetail baits.
  11. Well, I for one, wouldn't mind going back to the late 70's, early 80's.. 1948..I feel like a young pup..lol
  12. I use the same line as always..although this year, I'm Not pulling any fish off their beds.
  13. How would they Know, how a bass see's those, or any bait..? IMHO, they are guessing, or scaming..
  14. Haha..I use that line, like many others here. Also, I tossed up to 2 oz swimbaits with yozuri's 12 lb line..never had a problem. But that was in open water. Good choice.
  15. Shimano...for a couple of reasons..
  16. Your good to go with 20lb.
  17. I would also leave the reaction Strike baits alone. What about soft baits, like Matt's or the Huddelston 6" weedless..? They can be bought for under 20.00.
  18. I would go to 8, unless you have structure/cover that prevents it. Also, try (practice) with 2 brakes on. And try loosening the spool tension just a bit at a time, this will help tossin the lighter cranks. You really at this point need to train your thumb to control the reel. I.e. I have No brakes on and my spool tension is non exsistant..lol and yes, I do get minor overruns if I don't pay attention to what I'm doing.
  19. Depends on the weight of the baits you will be using. Example..guys that throw the heavier baits, 5oz and up will use 35-30lb mono. I use 55lb braid with a 12 fluro leader for 2 oz and lighter baits, if your going to be using the lighter baits, the 20lb fluro will work fine.
  20. Don't know about the st.croix's possibly the mh is a tad to much..? I have a 7' mf Rick Clunn BPS rod with a Chronarch 101 that can toss a 1/4 oz fine. That's not to say I can cast a mile with it, but I can get it in the zone. Also I use 8lb line, you might try using the same in a limp line like Trilene XL.. How is your reel set up..? i.e. brakes, and spool tension..?
  21. Hmmm, a hard swimbait that's a Quality bait can't be had for 10 to 20.00. that I know of. BBZ1 shad is about 20.00 in the smaller model. How are you losing lots of baits..? Maybe we can help with that.?
  22. Depends on the rod, reel and somewhat the line. Some baitcasters are built for tossin lighter baits, same for rods. What are you currently using..?
  23. Not to be a wiseguy..but wouldn't a person had to try all of the above to have a "favorite"...??
  24. There ya go...jig fishing 101...nuff said.
