  1. THose of you that have the High End Shimano's that are too heavy for you...feel free to pm me, I'll gladly take them off your hands for free.. Different strokes, for different folks..
  2. You might offer Catt a bribe..? ;D
  3. Good luck........where ya goin...?
  4. Ummmm..counterproductive for CPR... If you can see them swimming around good luck getting them trying to bite artificial lures. I suggest one of these bad boys!
  5. Absolutly...I have a 2500 Shara on a Clarus..me likey.. That Compre/Sahara combo would fit the bill nicely.
  6. Well, I have the 101 bpv chronarch. I compared the e7, as that was the reel I really wanted, But...I played around with the chronarch, and to me, it felt noticably smoother. On the downside, I would have prefered the faster ratio of the e7, so I have my chronarch as my dedicated swimbait reel, which it works very well at.. I doubt you'd be disapointed with either one..get the one that suits your application best.
  7. Been there....done that...Until something better comes along..it's YoZuri for me..
  8. One would have to be Chatterbaits. Seriously, how often do you hear about them..? How many guys do you know that use them regularly..? I've caught more than a few fish on them..
  9. Well......it sure ain't Cali...
  10. Rats...I always watched Lunkerville, now we have Charter cable, and sadly NO WFN... >
  11. If your fishing citypark lakes/ponds...you'll discover you need to be patient..Since these places have Much more pressure than most lake will ever see, bass are very learly of baits, unless they are very active. Fishing a senco, espeacilly wacky rigged slow can reap rewards, i.e. more fish, and sometimes bigger fish, that's not to say other baits won't, or don't catch fish. Another good reason to Know the water your fishing.. BTW, I've fished almost every park in oc and la..some of them it's almost impossible to catch fish.
  12. 1000 yds for 14.00 is Cheap..I pay that for 600 yds..I assume your buying the ultrasoft..? BTW, I now only use the green mist..
  13. Flylining is my Last resort. And yep, I do the splitshot thang alot. One way instead of using a splitshot, is to use a Mojo dropshot weight, i.e. pencil weight, gets hung up in rocks and weeds way less..downside is, you can't pinch it to remove it.. ;D I use this technique for all plastic's, worms, lizards, craws, creatures and sometimes shallow cranks..
  14. Just being Out of the house. Plus the peace and quiet, well, not always quiet, but you get the idea..it's simple.
  15. I have a Chronarch, 5:1 I can use it for cranks, but I'd rather use a 6.2:1..the 5:1 is great for swimbaits, which is that reels primary use..
  16. I had a problem with my BPS Extrem reel Sunday, so last night I took it apart, cleaned it, and tightened the screws on the black plastic plates on the inside, made sure there was no oil on the brakes ect. Buttoned it up, and today it worked just fine. Re: the thumb catch..I had that problem with my Cardiff reel, seems the little plastic catch thingy that engages the thumb release wasn't catching very well. Although it was fixable, I choose to get another reel. BTW, my BPS was bought used, I've had it for almost a year, use it at least 3 times a week, and this was my only problem, best 30.00 I've spent.. ;D
  17. Swimbaits, and chatter baits...yes, they catch fish.. That's not to say other baits won't work..
  18. Over the years, I've caught more fish on plastic worms than any other bait. However, I do like fishing with most other baits as well. Spinnerbaits, cranks, jigs, swimbaits and spoons. Oh plastic's to include craws, creatures, ect..Once you limit the bait you use, you limit you catch rate.
  19. Same here..Although I do use circle hooks once in awhile.. I agree with the gammie octopus hook. On any good bite, to where the fish just doesn't grab onto the senko, I've had good hook sets. All basically in the corner of the mouth, or the roof of the mouth. With these hooks, I've yet to really get a deep down the throat hook set which allows me to get the hook out quickly and return the fish to his buddies so others can catch them.
  20. Ha.....I just bought 2 bags for 6.99 ea..
  21. For a good all around line..YoZuri Hybrid Ultrasoft is hard to beat..but as was said, ask 10 different guys, you get 10 different answers. I found that it's best to pick a few brands and try them, you'll find the one you like..
  22. Cheating..no. Ever fish live dads in a rocky resivor..? Not a easy task keepin them critters outta the cracks in big ole rocks.. As for nightcrawlers, I'd have to say boring, basiclly a bait & wait..Shinners/shad..ya gotta have some skills to fish them effectivly. Have to say, I haven't used "live" bait in over 20 yrs, imho artificals are more of a challenge where I fish 96% od the time. I know Chris has had some success using live bait, and he's caught some really nice fish, but you have to take into account where, and how he fishes, again, takes some skill.. Fish however you want, so long as it's Legal..
  23. Comments...? I need to replace my bps extrem..saw the trillionair. Tried a search but got nada. Need info asap, as I need to have a reel by Tues.
  24. I get 600 yds for about 14.00
