  1. Hmmm, I seem to recall a month ago when I hooked a 8lb trout on a rattle trap, dang thing tossed it right into my finger..lol They do catch alot of fish, and our case...humans too... ;D
  2. I just started fluke fishin, I've tried all the methods mentioned above and so far.Zilch!!...but I'ma gonna keep at it, just cuz I like fishin with em.
  3. I use triline xl on all my spinnin reels, from 3lb to 12 lb test..no problems. It also helps to use KVD's line conditioner too..
  4. Nice vid..thanks for the link Dave.. 8-)
  5. With air temps under 40 degrees, and water under 60..I've had good luck with worms, rigged every which way, texas, wacky, ect..Also I've caught a few on spinnerbaits, worked very slow with a couple of twitches every few turns..mine are also in the 1-3lb range.
  6. Just 2 of us...My son, and I..the wife isn't too keen on fishin, the last time she tried it was in 1985..Anyways, we mostly fish for bass, but sometimes I sneak a couple of days of crappie fishin in there..
  7. I agree, it's definitly one of the best bassin shows on t.v..Also his Dad Roland has a good show too, both are imho very informative.. 8-)
  8. Welcome aboard.. 8-)
  9. Ditto...can't go wrong with a Shimano..
  10. I heart spinnebaits... 8-)
  11. Tickets for "smoking"..? I just saw that they have designated areas for smokin...we have reverations on March 1st at DVL..and I'm a smoker...it's funny they also own Lake Skinner but there aren't any restrictions there.. : I wouldn't normally go there, but Son is treating me to a day there including renting their bass boat.. And ditto on what Mike said..
  12. I think it was March, or sometime around there in 1986. Piru lake in so.cal..I pitched a chartruse and white stike king spinner bait into a drop off and nailed a 5lb.6oz lmb. I plan on gettin a better fish this year..
  13. Sam, thanks...and I wish I had pic's to post for ya, but I don't The weather here has been on the chilly side and some rain, although my Son and I fished yesterday, caught 8 lmb and 1 trout..lol temps were about 38 degrees in the early morning..all the fish were under 3 lbs. but it still was a fun day. Hope you guys get some warm weather soon.. 8-)
  14. you could line it with 6 mil plastic, but if you keep the worms happy, i.e. add lots of goodies for them, they'll stay put. i use to grow roses, and the soil was kept alive with organics, the worms loved it..when it rained some of the beds flooded and I'd have a zillion worms all over the driveway..lol
  15. Boy, I feel lucky compared to some of you guys..at almost 61, only 3 things jhave changed for me with regards to fishin.. Twisted and curved spine (pinched nerve) means I can't sit or stand in one position very long, and my back hurts like hell after a days fishin. my castin hand (right) was broken 3 times from racing motorcycles and arthiritis is settin in so that hurts and my accuracy is off from years ago. :-/ Lastly, these old eyes ain't what they use to be, I'm due for caturact (sp) surgery this year, and even with my reading glasses, tyin a lure, or hook on takes forever.. Oh, and I still work in construction..lol
  16. Thanks, and I agree..I've got so much info here already that I never thought would be avialable..Great site!!!!!!!
  17. Ditto, except I use 3# test, heck I've landed 8# rainbow trout with my ultralite and 3 # test, so even a 3 # crappie shouldn't be a problem..
  18. I've bought and sold a ton of stuff online, and never had a problem, i.e. gary yamamoto ect have secured sites to buy, and yup in most cases you can get a better deal on the net.. ;D
  19. I have always used Stren, lately XL 8-10 lb test has been in use. I looked for some yo zuri today, but all they has was 15 -50 lb test.. > Guess I'll have to order some online..
  20. Likewise, all she mano or Diawa...imho they are tough to beat for the $$$ Shimano is pretty local to me, so it's easy if I need a part or service, which by the way, I have to say they are second to none. 8-)
  21. Another Zona vote.. That Moore dude gets on my nerves, and I can't for the life of me figure how he ever got his own show. :
  22. Thanks for the warm welcome guys..
  23. Welp, I use to do lots of lmb fishing in the late 70's up to the mid/late 80's then I kinda gave it up. As I got hooked on motorcycle racing (dirttrack) Then last Chrismas my Son who's a avid angler gave me a new rod, reel and tackle bag, needless to say I was overjoyed Since then I've been buyin lures, and all the stuff I think I need to maybe catch some decent bass. Anyways, I took a gander at this forum which I found via "google" and decided to join up. 8-) Look forward to talkin with y'all, and askin tons of questions.. ;D Greg
