  1. I have a slight amount of play on all my Tatula's and my Fuego reels. I tend to rely on my thumb help eliminate any overruns. Adjust them to your comfort level.
  2. Blue Gill Flash and Shad works good for where I fish.
  3. Being I shore fish most of the time, I don't need a gazilloin rigs, these serve me plenty well. Sorry for the so so pic's.
  4. I'd look at the Irod Tom mentioned, I have 3 and 1 more on the way. Light, great action, look good, and I like the split Eva grips, oh and limited lifetime warranty, and awesome customer service. I've owned Dobyns as well, but prefer the Irod Gen III.
  5. Called TW yesterday at about 1:30 PST, took all of maybe 5 mins to get a rep on the line. Guess I got lucky.
  6. Check out TaticalBassin if you haven't already. Matt and Tim live on that lake now, and have some good videos of the lake, and some big fish.
  7. Called TW today. My rod is being shipped tomorrow...Yay!!!
  8. Us older guys fished with slower reels for many years before the high speed reels came out. IMHO, it's easier to speed up your cranking than it is to slow down. I would opt for the 6 speed for general purpose fishing.
  9. TW must really be backed up. I ordered a rod during BF, rod was back ordered, TW received it on 12/17, and I'm still waiting for it to be shipped. Contacted them twice about when it might get shipped, the answer....was no idea.
  10. Ahh, Golf, my second love..
  11. I currently have 50 lb Smackdown on my frog rig, and my pitching rig for Heavy cover. I've used a couple of other brands in the past, and can say smackdown is what I will stay with. Cast's really well, no downside to it that I can see. I don't use any leaders on my braid.
  12. I know of 2 lakes that removed Long's catches from their records. The list does not reflect that.
  13. From what I can remember, I'd have to say a trout. I was maybe 6 or 7 years old, my dad took me to one of the pay to fish trout farm places. Don't recall how many I caught, but I do recall going barefoot, and getting a nice sized hood stuck in my foot. Lucky for me, the guy running the place knew how to remove them, almost painlessly. First bass..hmm, cannot for the life of me recall that one. Old age might have something to do with that..lol
  14. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well Tom. Hopefully time will help you ease the pain. Also, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year to all of the BR members.
  15. The 6" would be the max. The 9" bull shad is too heavy for that rod.
  16. There is your answer. Yeah, go for the slow sink to avoid any snags. BTW, I use the same Irod.
  17. I would get the one that matches the bait fish in your fishery. For me, the blue gill works best where I fish.
  18. Just fyi, any game fish Cannot be transported here in Cali w/o a permit. It is also illegal to buy or sell any Game fish, that include blue gill and trout, ect.
  19. Been here for more than a few years now. I have been on a number of other bass forums, None have been as helpful as BR, also most, if not all of those other forums are gone. I think that says a lot for the staff, and the members here. Thanks!
  20. Always has been, and will continue to be a Senko.
  21. Yes. Caught several bass on 6 and 8" trout Hudds in city park ponds/lakes that have no trout. Presentation is key. Have also caught bass at DVL using the same Hudds, and similar baits.
  22. Hammer 4 replied to Jigfishn10's topic in Everything Else
    Apple or Cherry for me.
  23. Got a e-mail from TW today. Irod Gen. is back in stock. Should be getting my rod soon.
