  1. Might have a gander at the Diawa Tatula XT rods. Very light weight, good action, and they look pretty good to. Priced from 99.99 to 119.99..I have 3 of them, great value imho.
  2. All that, and No mask...duh
  3. Can be found here.. https://www.google.com/search?q=The+Cosmic+Clock+and+Bass+Calendar&rlz=1C1CHWA_enUS634US634&oq=The+Cosmic+Clock+and+Bass+Calendar&aqs=chrome..69i57j33.2947j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  4. Agreed. I fished a small club tourny some years ago in the middle of July, was over 100*. This lake is well known for gin clear water, and if you ask 20 people what the best way to catch bass is, 19 will say a 4" worm drop shotting. Anyway, I decided from the get go, I'm doing something totally different. Set up 2 of my swimbait rigs, one with a Mattlures bluegill, slow sink, and the other with a 6" jointed all white swimbait a friend gave me that morning. I began throwing these in about 10' of water. BTW, I had No electronic's to guide me. Anyway, so about 10:30 am, I get a hit on my bluegill in about 4-5 feet of water, near a rock pile, went 3.8 lbs. Snap a pic of the fish and scale, let it go. Around 12:30, I went near the dam, all good sized rocks, some boulders. I throw the all white swimbait in about a foot of water, Blam..I nice 6.10 absolutely smashed it.. Fishing was very tough that day. I wound up winning the tourney by 6 1/2 pounds..Pocketed a cool $ 200.00 and got a nice tan to boot. So, baits that seem real, in this case didn't matter at all, for the most part, sans my bluegill bait.
  5. Welcome to the wonderful world of Bass fishing..
  6. Still praying that she is cancer free. Good to see that she's going home.
  7. The Diawa Fuego 2500 would be a good start..It has an anti reverse, unlike the shimano reels.
  8. Bass take into account a few things when they either will strike a bait, or even live baitfish, and when they won't. If you study bass, they are neither super smart, but they ain't dumb either. They have the ability to learn.
  9. For me, it's just not about the upper water column temps, but also the overall conditions. If there the slightest amount of chop on the water, I'm throwing some type of top water, if it's cloudy, with no wind, top water, if it's cloudy with wind, it's top water. What you choose to throw is up to you, could be a frog, buzz bait, rat, wake bait, ect. Heck, I've had some success semi burning a double willow spinnerbait on the surface. Now, I'd say if the bass are on beds, topwater may not be the best choice. It all comes down to..do the bass feel safe attacking something above them, are they willing to expend the energy to chase it down..? These also play a roll in how successful you are, or aren't.
  10. Go to the video, click play, then put your cursor anywhere on the video screen, in the upper right hand corner, you will see a box, saying 1 to p. click on that, you will then see a list of all the videos.
  11. I have a couple of these fancy types of baits, some catch fish, some don't. I'd much rather have good action, and quality parts, than realism..
  12. Is open, with some exceptions. http://www.castaiclake.com/
  13. Everything was so easy not to long ago, when most reels were made in Japan. I can't recall having any issues or people that bought from other countries.
  14. Talking to Butch in person, I learned a lot about swimbaiting. This is back when he was using Huddelstons.
  15. Having owned a Cardiff, and presently use the Tatula 200, throwing less than 3 oz baits, either would be fine. I would just point out that the Tatula is a higher quality reel, and is a low profile, vs the round Cardiff. I would add thatsome people would prefer the Tatula on a rod, unless it's an 8' XH..balance would be better.
  16. Nope, for the lefty, it was $ 111.00, plus tax. Still a good deal, I think.
  17. Just scored a Tatula 200HL, for a great price..
  18. Very sorry to hear that. Good vibes and Prayers sent out to your Mom, wishing for the best. Well keep you, your family in our thoughts..
  19. For a few bucks more, imho, the Irod is a great value, light, well built, and it just looks dang good. I have a couple of em. Genesis II Casting Rod 7'8" Jr. Swimbait Med Hvy 783sb - Jr. Swimbait Rod
  20. Good luck on getting your refund. I've been waiting 3 months for mine, on a non fishing related refund. BTW, there are NO real people there at paypal to answer questions..Really frustrating. Hope you have better luck.
  21. I bought a Sahara from TW about 3 months ago,or so. It came in a factory box. The reel is very smooth, no issues at all. I wonder if the clam shell reels are at all different in some way.?
  22. Completely agree..
  23. With Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker, two of the best at the time. I would have to rate Cream above Clapton's other bands. Just so much talent there.
  24. For me, Cream was a separate entity..Totally different than the bands you mentioned.
