  1. Of all the cars I've had over the last 50+ years, my old 1966 Chevelle SS, with a built 396 rat motor. Power was fairly good that I could easily break the rear tires loose in all 4 gears, even at low speeds. Would have loved to have that motor in a 65, or 66 Nova..Good times back then. Current is my 2003 Chevy Duramax 6.6 diesel..with some mods..hehe..Even so, 600 hp doesn't move my truck at 7000 lbs all that great..
  2. Plus..acetone has a really Fast flash point, i.e. it dries super fast.
  3. I had to give up tying some knots, due to the Meds I take, makes my hands shake beyond control, very frustrating.
  4. CONGRATZ...Here's to a bright and Rewarding future to ya..
  5. I slowly pull both, making sure I have enough spit on the knot, and the line close to it. Making sure all your wraps are inline, and not crossed is important also.
  6. Just in case..JFYI, there is no casting involved in Flipping, and just short cast's when pitching, so distance really doesn't come into play.
  7. Could be the bass are spawning, which means the bite is really tough. Once they are done, the bite will pick back up. Try some blue gill pattern baits.
  8. Try a Megabass Dark Sleeper..
  9. I fished there once many years ago. It's always been a high pressure lake. I was there during pre spawn, got a few bass, but smaller ones. What baits are you throwing..?
  10. Go with what You feel comfy with, what other people do is of no consequence. I use to fish a 8' xh swimbait rig from my float tube, chucking 5 oz baits. People thought I was crazy..lol
  11. Are you able to stand on your yak.? If so, then whatever length rod you like, go with that. Just make sure to get the right power rating for the cover you will be fishing..
  12. Unless I forgot my reading glasses, or I'm in a big hurry, San Diego jam knot, other wise a uni, with 5 or 6 wraps. Just make sure to WET the knot and the line close to it. This goes for 8 lb to 17 lb mono.
  13. I'd say once a year, for a complete clean and lube. When I was fishing 5 to 6 times a week, and usually 4 of those were in salt water, which the rod and reels goit rinsed with fresh water. I had the reels serviced once every 2 months or so. Without the saltwater, then about every 8 months, just to be safe, as I had higher end made in Japan reels then.
  14. I use to use my Mountain bike, but stopped. Creepy guys were eye balling it too much. Not a fat bike, but a 2500.00 hardtail, with good stuff on it. Plus it was kinda hard carrying 4 rigs, plus my big backpack. If your gonna get a bike, get a beater type.
  15. I'm right handed, cast with my right, reel with my left hand. I had cataracts in both eyes, I had a lens replacement in my left eye, right eye is very blurry. If I make a bomb type cast, it will go to the left, If I don't focus. I can make sidearm and roll cast's just fine. So being that I'm really left eye dominate I have to concentrate more if I want to hot my target, and not wind up casting to the left of it.
  16. They have to pay their Pro's somehow...
  17. 7'6" is top rated at 1 1/2 oz..That will not throw larger swimbaits, unless your talking plastic paddle tails. The 7 footer will give you better accuracy for froggin, but will have issues with the other baits you listed. I use a 7'4" for froggin, and a 7'9" for some of the other baits you mentioned. If...it were me, I would give up a bit in accuracy and go for the 7'6". Of course this would depend on the cover your lake/lakes have.
  18. Looks Great. That guy is one talented artist.
  19. Whelp, you know where the bass are. Small swimbaits like a 3.8 kietech, ect. lipless cranks if there isn't any vegetation. Small jigs with craw type trailers if there are crawdads in there..T rigged worms, senco's..ect, ect.
  20. ^^^^ This...Check craigslist. In my area I see lots of em for sale.
  21. If you can see the bass, they can see you. Try to stay out of their sight.
  22. Not to get OT, but all my Diawa reels, the Fuego included have been the smoothest reels I've bought. But when humans are involved your bound to get someone that missed something..
  23. Yep, I bought a new Citica, and it had so much grease on the line guide, well in fact almost every moving part. Cleaned it all up, then oiled it, now it's pretty smooth.
  24. Just my humble opinion, but I think everyone should fish with all 3 types of line, braid, fluro and mono. That way you get a feel of how each line works. One type isn't better than the other, each line has it's place. You may have your drag set to lightly, I never experienced that, so that's only a guess.
  25. I'm not telling him to do anything. I'm saying what I'd do. A 6 lb bass is fairly common, there are much bigger bass in GA. to be caught. I'd spend the $$ on a bigger fish, if I did that. I just snap a good pic, and call it good.
