Pork ... Is back!?!?

Featured Replies

For the pork lovers. Looks like pork trailers are back in production.

Here is his website: https://nwatackle.com/shop?olsPage=products

A guy out of northwest Arkansas has started selling pork frogs made from real pork. Not sure how these will compare to Uncle Josh, but it seems to be the only source for “new” real pork trailers. I haven’t tried them yet, but I ordered a few. I hope they are as good as Uncle Josh and I hope this guy does well (mostly for the sake of keeping pork trailers in production). I have no affiliation with this company and have no testimony of the effectiveness of the baits. Just trying to pass along some info because I know a lot of guys like pork and it seems hard to find.

There's no way Vienna sausages are made from pork, not even lips and fingernails.  It's got to be something worse.

  • I remember asking Robin the owner of Super Pork why he was closing the business and he said it was too demanding for him and his wife. The big problem was finding hog backs with thick enough skin. The

I was just FB messaging with him (Dillon) last week. I loved fishing Unlce Josh pork on my flipping jigs so I’ll probably will be buying some of these. I wish he had a side photo of these. They don’t look like they have that thick pad of meat like UJ did.

@Dirtyeggroll Thank you for sharing this one.

Agreed ~

I was hoping & thinking the same.

Also 'the colors' - black, blue and brown are all 'backordered'

I'll be watching this one to see what's what.

I ordered a couple of the colors that are not back ordered. Will take some pictures and report here when I get them.

I don’t have any Uncle Josh to compare, however.

I have a very small 'stash' of the Uncle Josh that I've been milking for several seasons.

Just looking at the pics he's posted, I like it.

I'll also give it a try once it's available again.

He could probably ask & get a bit more for these;

especially as the lone source of supply.

Don't tell him though.

I do have some UJ still. Not sure if they are good anymore. They’re only 30 years old. I also use to mix a scent in with the brine

I was going to post something asking if anyone knew of anyone making these nowadays. Looks like I don't have to! I just ordered a couple jars to check them out. Most of the traditional colors are backordered and I don't know what ths turnaround is on that but they still had some colors that will work fine for me. Can't wait to try them. Thanks for posting this!

Here is a message from Dillon I got about delivery

“Shipping is $4 dollars total on the end of your purchase and I have sold all of my frogs I have complety made  so it will take 2 weeks to get your batch done but I would order quick if you want some or it will take about 4 weeks if you order later because I'm getting close to selling out of my and batch as well”

If they are half as good as Uncle Josh's baits, this guy is going to make a killing.

I hope he is prepared for the demand.  In this internet world, it won't take long.

What we bass anglers think is an insatiable appetite for pork rind trailers is nothing compared to the saltwater anglers.  I see this guy doing well if he plays it right.

Two bottles ordered.

What will really sink him is if he didn't get his price per jar right. If he's not making enough per unit to make it worth his time, it'll collapse under it's own weight.

I can find a sketch on how to trim pork trailers that are the same thickness to enhance the action if interested.

I wonder if the lack of fat pad will change the buoyancy and thus the action. Bought some anyway.

About 30 minutes after my backorder lands, because ...why not?

Anyone get theirs yet? I ordered a couple a few weeks back and haven't gotten any update.

Anyone heard from this guy? I’ve got a bad feeling. I’m holding out, but we will see.

There is a ton of people on Facebook bashing this guy as a scammer.
