One of the best geetar players ever...- Best Dropshot Colors
I normally use a 4" roboworm for ds'n...and my goto is Morning Dawn, next would be M.M. This is for stained and clear water.- need advice
Also, how you rig them, and how you actually fish them could play a major part in you catching vs well, not. A Senko whacky rigged is tough to beat, it's a proven bass catcher. I suggest you go on youtube and see how it's done. The only downside to this technique is that you have to be very Aware of the bite, and set the hook Immediately to avoid gut hooking the fish. Also, how you fish your other lures may be keeping you from getting bites, i.e. to fast, to high in the water, to slow, to fast, ect, ect..Bass fishing ain't easy, it takes time on the water, and lots of practice to get good at it.- Daiwa Tatula XT 7'4" H frog casting rod vs Okuma TCS 7'3" H casting rod
I have the XT, love it for froggin. Just for the heck of it, I tried tossing a 2 oz bait with it, it struggled to get the bait any distance. I'd say 1 1/2 oz would be the max. I'd say that the above is good advice..- Spool tension
I don't, but then all my reels have some spool side to side play, so it's sorta loose anyway.- Advice for new anglers
My recommendation to all new bass anglers is this. Learn to fish a Texas rigged weighted worm, there are many videos on youtube that will help with the learning process. Get if you don't already have one a decent med, or med heavy spinning set up, use 8 lb mono, or copoly line, get some 1/8 and 3/16 oz bullet weights, 1/4 oz if you have thicker vegetation. Get good at casting to specific targets, learn to fish these SLOW, and get use to detecting bites. Doing this will pay dividends on the long run. Switching up lures all the time at this stage will just slow down the learning process. Be Patient..Even the best anglers get skunked now and then. Good luck, and have FUN.- Skipping and backhand casting
Here's a good video on dock skipping..- Best Flipping & Pitching reel? With a flipping switch?
I've never used a flipping switch. Just pull out enough line to reach the spot you want to get the lure to, disengage the free spool, and go..has worked for many years that way.- Best Flipping & Pitching reel? With a flipping switch?
Diawa's, flipping, the diawa Fuego 8 speed, pitching I could use the same reel, but I use a different rod, with a Shimano Citica 201, 7 speed. Many, many years ago, we used much slower speed reels, and did o.k back then.- Best Flipping & Pitching reel? With a flipping switch?
I'm the same height as you are. In a float tube, your sitting about 4 to 6" off the water surface. A float tube is Much smaller than a yak, and with a 4 rod holder, I was limited for room to work my 8' swimbait rod, but I figured out a way to do it, same with flippin and pitchin. Try going somewhat across your body vs staying to your side, keeping the rod tip high enough that you don't hit anything, and the release is critical..Practice, practice..you will get worked out.- Best Flipping & Pitching reel? With a flipping switch?
Have done both from a Float Tube..Not easy at first, but can be done.- Lead, mono, hook

Your golf courses are still open..? All the courses around here in So. Cali are Closed, even the driving ranges..I'm jonsing bad..Nice Gif BTW..- Went Out Sunday Afternoon to a Local Lake
This describes me to a T..Bring on the Warm weather..Nice try there Sam..- How many bass do you catch in a year? How many bass have you caught in your life?
In only 50 yrs of bass fishing, I have No idea on how many I've caught. I don't keep track of numbers, not even for this year..- Shimano Sahara 2500fi
- Using Scent?
Long time ago, Bobby whipped me up some Megastrike trout scent..Stuff was killer on soft swimbaits. Wish I still had some...sigh.- Pork ... Is back!?!?
His website is also down when I clicked on it.- Pegging weight
You can use these after you put your weight and tie your hook on. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Bullet_Weights_Rubber_T-Stops_10pk/descpage-BWRTST.html- Spinnerbait blade type to imitate Bluegill
- Taking your fishing to the next level
Another angle...Shore fish man made city park ponds/lakes..You have no sonar, you can't see that far from shore because the water is usually stained. But if you know a bass's behavior you stand a much better chance of catching fish on a consistent basis.. Bass have what I call highways they use to travel, most lakes and ponds have them, find those and you can catch fish on a regular basis. Only gobs of time fishing them will reward you. In that regard I'll go out on a limb and say, this type of bass fishing is probably the most difficult for many. Also, technique plays a big part in it. - Rate the song above you
