Bps 7-10 Mh Crankin Stick
Does anybody have any experience throwing deep divers with the BPS 7-10 MH crankin stick? I think I need a stick for deep divers but do not want to spend a lot on one. I think this rod may be the ticket???

Gander Mountain Closeouts
Gander mountain opened a store in Lafayette, In. recently and the fishing dept is terrible. They have four short rows of lures and that is it. The only crankbait they carry is rapalas. I was shocked when I saw this. The manager said that would be all they carried at any time of the year because this is gun country.????????? The part I just cant stand is when I asked the guy in the fishing dept if they had the new gen 3 revo he looked at me and said "I have never heard of that reel." I have not been back.

Powell Endurance 755
I currently have the 703,704, and the 733 all max rods and I love them all. Been eye balling the 755 for deep cranks so I may have to pull the trigger on one before the weekend is over. The guys at *** are great to deal with. I will eventually change all but two of my rods over to powells.

Ballast Needed On Homemade Crankbait????
Well since I just had rotator cuff surgery, I had my wife go with me too a local pond and I put a split shot on the front hook and it ran perfect. So what I did to the three baits is put a few suspend dots halfway between the bill and the front hook. They run great. I will make another one soon and drill a hole between the bill and frt hook and put a split shot in and epoxy it over and see how that works. Thanks for your help guys. I really like the action of these baits as compared to the baits with the plastic bills.

Ballast Needed On Homemade Crankbait????
Ok, here is the situation. I have been carving crankbaits for 3 yrs now and I have been using the small plastic bill from janns on them and have not had any issues with them. I have not added any ballast weight to them and they still run true as long as I get the bills on true. Now for the problem, I bought some circuit board bills to use and now the bait wants to just roll to one side or the other and stay there. Do I need to drill and add ballast weight to correct this issue? Or if not, what is wrong? All of the screw eyes are dead center on the bait also. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. P.S. I am using western red cedar for the crankbaits.

New Carbonlite Very Noisy On Cast And Retrieve
Its a little quieter throwing it around the yard than actually fishin it. I oiled the bearings today and that seemed to help some. I noticed the brass piece that the spool shaft goes into has a ton of slop. What the heck is that all about?? I agree they need to rethink this reel. I absolutely hate a noisy reel. The new brakes suck too! I suppose I will have to drive dang near two hours back to BPS to return this thing, YEE HAW at 4 bucks a gallon I will have a ton wrapped up in this clunker. It is the 6.2 to 1 ratio.

New Carbonlite Very Noisy On Cast And Retrieve
Its too bad they had to go and mess up a good reel. The gold carbonlite was a nice reel. They should of made it black and stopped right there. I will call store and see if I can ship it back to them for an exchange since its a two hour drive. Thanks DVT.

Carbon Fiber Baitcast Handels
Does anyone know the weight difference between aluminum and carbon handles? I think my four revo sx's have steel handles?????? Correct me if I am wrong. Get some pics on here, I would be interested in regular handles if you cant do the swept handles. It would help lighten the ol sx's up a touch.

Dobyns 734C For Jigs,opinions?
Hey thanks for getting this post into the correct forum. I realized it was in the wrong place after I posted it. What I am learning from this post and some others I have on other boards it sounds like the 704 would be the way to go for a jig rod.Looking forward to geting one. Thanks everyone.

Dobyns 734C For Jigs,opinions?
Well the title pretty much states it. I'm looking into buying a Dobyns rod for fishing a jig. Dont know if I want the 734 or the 704? Any suggestions or opinions.I am having a very hard time finding a store that carries them that is within a reasonable driving distance so I can actually handle one and put a reel on it. So any input will help. Thanks.

Broomstick
Simmons Sporting Goods is one solid company to buy from. I have bought several rods and reels from them in the past. I have talked to Russell many times on the phone and told him what I was wanting in a rod and he always got me set up with what I was looking for. I never buy anywhere else before talking to these guys period!

Dobyns Savvy 663
Does it have enough tip so you can cast easily? I am done with the pool cue type of rods they tear my elbow up. Thanks for the info,I always hate buying a rod without picking it up and putting a reel on it.

Rod Turning Inside Reel Seat
Thanks to everyone who pitched in on this post. I found a syringe and its tip was 5/32 so I drilled a 5/32 hole in the reel seat and put epoxy into the syringe and injected it into the hole. I let it sit for two days and put a reel on it and it works perfect. Thanks again everyone. This site rocks!

Re-Evaluating Your Tackle
I went through my tackle yesterday morning. I dumped a lot of plastic worms, several colors I would not use and several sizes I do not use. I am very heavy on craws from several brands. It looks like I will use the paca craws and the chigger craws and the rest will be used up and not replaced. Now I have over 500 crankbaits and after going through them I now have 490 crankbaits. LOL... I actually put about 100 in plano boxes and stuck them in the cabinet. I have my rods and reels narrowed down to eight on board. That was tough also. To be honest I have so much tackle in the boat I usually dont mess with changing anything because it takes too long to find or dig out. Then you have a million rods all over the place to the point you cant even walk around. I have to keep eliminating tackle thats for sure. Does anybody have the problem where if you kill them on a buzz bait you go out and buy seventeen in all sizes and colors? I find myself doing this quite a bit. Usually with plastics. The first time I smoked them on a chigger craw I ran to Dicks and bought five or six different colors when all I needed was green pumpkin. I have a buddy that will do the same thing too.Is this what you guys call the BAIT MONKEY??????????

Rod Turning Inside Reel Seat
I need some advice on fixing this rod. The rod blank turns inside the reel seat when you tighten a reel down in it. How do I go about getting this glued so it will quit turning?
