I have friends that swear by mega strike, myself, I have tried and tried it but couldnt get bit on the stuff so I gave it away and went back to the 2 scents that have always worked for me, Pro Cure and Hot Sauce. Oh yeah, Watermelon/Black Flake

I like to split shot the baby brush hogs and Texas rig the regular sized ones

What I would do in that type of situation is down size. Break put a spinning reel with light line and put on a 3 inch Salt/Pepper Reaper, place a small split shot without and "Ears" right against the head of the reaper and cast it side arm so it skips on the surface like skipping a rock. I have found that this usually drives the bass crazy, even when they are picky.

The Abu 6500 series reels would be a great choice. I would be sure to check Fishermans Factory Outlet for great prices with a full factory warranty before eBay.
