  1. This might have been said but: You HAVE to be able to get in the "zone." Iaconelli mentions this in his book. He says something along the lines of when he's in the zone, things happen. I believe in that 100%.
  2. X? on spool tension. Once you get your mad skills try to see how loosely you can keep your reel set and still cast it consistently. Thats how Ive been doing it for a while and it works for me. Youve gotta keep your thumb-brain going though.
  3. The Zillion and Sol would be my two pics. The fuego is nice but I prefer the other two. I second what the other guys are saying; zillion for power Sol for finesse.
  4. I use a Daiwa Sol. Ive got it low ridin on a TD Light and Tough 7'0" M rod rated for 1/8oz to 1oz. I broke the rod once and got a new one, other than that its been excellent. If you got SiC bearings in that Sol Id say itd be smokin :-*
  5. I have one that Ive not used in a while for 3 reasons: 1. My mom made one and spies on myself and my friends. One time she acquired my password and read all of my messages :-[ 2. I was sick of those jackasses being petty about how many friends I had. I had around 400 and thought it was dumb so I whittled them down to around 100-150. 3. I just use a phone. Unlimited texting and the gift of speech are pretty useful. If anyone wants to look at it, search the name RED RANGER. Yes, I am an internet power ranger.
  6. Ive gotten over my love affair with BPS. Bass shop for me lol.
  7. Id side with a delicate balance of both. If you know how to fish well but not where, you probably wont get very far. If you know your patterns and such but cant work a bait very well, like if your fishing to fast, casting badly, fishing with no efficiency, whatever, that wont treat you very well either. The mental aspect is critical as well. Being able to remain level headed under stress is tremendous.
  8. It will sink faster but I guess its personal choice if you want a fast sink or a slower one.
  9. HAHAHA ;D I dont have that problem around here. All of the old people would pray for the farmer or the coyotes, not sure which but Id guess not the farmer.
  10. Freak on a Leash was an awesome song, especially when the dude wrestles with an alabaster dwarf(<urban dictionary it) in the middle of the song. The album with Twisted Transistor is ho hum. I dont listen to it enough to remember what its called though
  11. Great post Catt.
  12. Alright, you'll have to start off by "making him an offer he can't refuse" like cutting one of his animals heads off(preferably horse) and putting it in his bed. Soon you'll get a big freakin bouquet and a note congratulating you on the deal you've secured. That's what's up.
  13. Those are some toadish porportions Conversely, I caught a 21 incher that only weighed 3lb9oz. I dont think LimpingLogan has that problem though. Id say 5.4579lbs.
  14. Nice fish broseph!! Outta the tube, thats sick
  15. LOL at Horace... and the dog at the end ;D
  16. Favorite jig? The one that gets bit 8-) The only ones I buy are local made and they are sweeet. They have around a 65 strand skirt and nice hooks, either EWG style or reg. in thin wire or thick. An exception would be strike king bitsy jigs because, for me, they are better in weedy places.
  17. X2 I love those rapalas.
  18. to the forum. I would suggest using the search feature if your looking for tips on specific thing like "carolina rig" or something. Thanks for the pencil grip tip, Ive never heard of that.
  19. Cool pic burley. Looks like you mighta got some of dave's fish poo on the left side though.
  20. Pretty cool. Are you raising those fish for some super natural real scaled baits? Kidding...
  21. Love the bottom pic lol. Thats so baaaddd.
  22. Alright, I got a swimbait combo about the time the water froze last year and want to get into swimbaitin this year. Right now Ive got some basic baits like ROF0 and ROF12 8in hudds, ROF5 and ROF12 6in Hudds, Mattlures baby bass, King Kong, and a few others. To throw them Ive got a 7'11" Crucial 1oz-5oz with a Cardiff 300. The rod does well enough with everything from the big hudds to the little bass although Ive got another combo that works slightly better as its rated 1/2-2oz. My questions are: where do you all use them as in structure and how do you fish particular types of baits? Thanks fellas.
  23. I took all of my reels apart earlier in the year. Its not too hard. Someone on here had a great idea by putting there parts in a muffin pan, I plan on borrowing that. Just keep schematics handy. I think the only two I needed them for were a Viento (twitchin bar was eh) and a Shimano (no explanation needed ), the other 8 or 9 reels werent a problem.
  24. Dicks only reels? I thought they were reels for those guys you dont like very much :
