  1. To pull a stunt like that out of ignorance would require that the guy be a complete neophyte at fishing. If he had just pulled up near you, spoke for a minute, and then left I probably would have let it go. But he pulled up and scoped out your spot with his fishfinder while you were fishing. I definitely would have communicated to him he was disturbing my fishing.
  2. If you think using live bait is "cheating" you might want to read some of the information on the following link for a different take. This is from the website of one of our members, Fish Chris. http://www.trophybassonly.com/id103.htm

    Welcome to Bass Resource!
  4. Catt is absolutely correct. I have a 2000 19' 6" Stratos 295 Pro Elite with a 200 horse Evinrude. I fish a lake where 4150 of 7200 acres were left with standing timber when it was created in the late 1970s. Quite a bit of that timber has broken off just below the water. Since the lake is stained to muddy at times it is easy to miss one of these trees and go right over the top of it with the electric motor (I stay in the boat lanes when running the big motor). In fact, on occasion I get stuck on top of one of these and I have to swing the boat back and forth with the trolling motor to escape. I have scratches but my boat is solid as a rock. I can also take it into shallow water from 1 - 2 feet. My trolling motor hits bottom before my hull. A bassboat is a tool to catch fish. If you try to avoid situations that might scratch it you will never realize the full potential of your boat.
  5. Now that's more like it! Again, nice fish and congratulations!
  6. That's a beautiful bass, Paul. I've wanted to ask you about this pond, or is it a group of ponds? Do you own and manage this water? Whoever manages this water is doing a fantastic job.
  7. I use braid, fluoro, regular mono, and Yo-Zuri ultrasoft, and I also use the ultrasoft on one baitcaster as well as on my spinning rods. I don't know why more people don't try it instead of regular Yo-Zuri on baitcasters. Other than some memory, I see no faults with the line, and the memory is something that decreases after you wet the line again.
  8. Welcome, Nate!
  9. Any day is a good day for fishing, right? It is obvious from your posts in the "outings" section that you and your family love fishing and just being on the lake. Nice pics.
  10. That is a good fish! I wish the picture was larger.
  11. That's decent sized fish. Sounds like you had a blast.
  12. Thanks to our veterans for all of our freedoms! There is nothing we can truly say to thank you for placing your lives in harms way for all of us.

  20. dman stated: I assume you meant that as a joke. Just because we are bass fishermen doesn't make us more well-behaved than any other fishermen, or any other group of people for that matter. The rules that have been set by Glenn are why this is a good forum. Those who don't want to abide by those rules don't participate, which results in far fewer knotheads on this forum.
