  1. Could be. I work in a field where most of the people that do what I do are less than 30 - 35 years of age. Since I'm 48, I'm the senile1.
  2. Welcome to the community!
  3. I went fishing today and caught this decent female. She tipped the scales at 4 lb 13 oz. We've had mostly winter temperatures with a Spring-like day thrown in here and there for good measure. The water was cold and highly stained. I caught nothing for the first three hours but eventually the sun broke through the clouds and a mild wind chopped up the surface of the water. I caught this fish around noon on a Booyah Spinnerbait with a single Colorado blade, and I ended the day with five fish. I haven't had too many opportunities to wet a line yet this year so it was good to get out.
  4. Russ, I just sent a picture of myself and a prespawn fatty I caught today to membersmedia@gmail.com. My screenname is in the subject of the email.

    Welcome, Z-man!
  6. RW stated: This is very debatable. It depends on your definition of birthplace. The blues music that spawned Rock 'n' roll was played in numerous places in the South and Memphis was a major location. Some of the musicians migrated to Chicago and a big contingent of musicians played there. Elvis was from Memphis. But the original Rock 'n' Roller, the big Daddy himself, Chuck Berry, was from St Louis. So Missouri holds the distinction of the birthplace of rock 'n' roll when defined by who is the first musician whose music was defined as Rock 'n' roll. Other than that, Missouri has more teeth per capita than Arkansas.
  7. For heavy stained to muddy water I use dark colored plastics and jigs with rattles. For crankbaits I use dark or bright colors with a rattling bait. For spinnerbaits I agree with what has already been posted but I would emphasize that I prefer large colorado blades over large willow leafs or indiana blades. Use lures that the fish will notice.
  8. I'm sure it was fun just to get out. I repaired two toilets in my house, prepared my mower for Spring, and worked on some landscaping. Sounds like you had a better day than me.
  9. That's a nice fish, Bassboy15. Congratulations!
  10. ;D Great story. Congratulations on your new PB!

  12. Nice pictures! Beautiful fish!
  13. Ok, people. I posted this yesterday so imagine my consternation when I checked the thread this morning and no one else had posted. Please don't let this thread end with my "Good night, Irene" comment. RW deserves a few more pats on the back!
  14. When the water is clear and calm and the bass can get a good look at your lure I prefer to use other baits; however, the bass can always fool you. There are times when the spinnerbait is a logical choice to use and there are times when other baits would seem to be a better choice, but bass don't care about our rules of thumb. A spinnerbait can work at any time if your presentation fits the mood of the fish. Maybe the only time you can't use one is when the bass are buried in cover and won't leave that cover to chase a lure.
  15. Relating to fishing, and comparing myself to the best I've seen in the different aspects of our sport, I'm good at a lot of things but not REALLY good at anything. I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none. Welcome back, Fish Chris! Peace to you as well.
  16. Welcome to the community, Evan!
  17. Congrats, Kent! You've been a big help to anyone who pays attention on these forums. I, too, started using Yo Zuri a couple of years ago at your suggestion and it is always on a couple of my rods. What else can one say? Oh, yeah, this thread has gone on long enough. Good night, Irene!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Welcome, Steve!

  23. i choose tennessee. ;D if you don't want to start a full blown guide service, have you ever thought about just writing a book instead? perhaps another idea would be an online class where people could send you graph screen shots or map images and you could help them interpret what they are seeing and how to fish it. that way, your knowledge and expertise is out there for anyone and everyone to benefit from. If you really want to teach people how to read their graphs to find the sweet spot on structure, I think a book is an awesome idea as Paul suggests. From a business standpoint, if you're wanting to make your money on the water I'm with RW's post. Either way, you have the knowledge for it.
