What is "big"
I'm with you basswrangler, anything over 4 lbs. is a pretty big fish.

What would you buy?
First, I would buy another Carrot Stix, then I would use the leftovers for tackle.

Slower retrieve baitcaster
Pfluger Trion. It cost $99.00 and hasn't failed me yet.

flipping jig with the rattles??
All of my flipping jigs have rattles because all of my flipping jigs are Revenge. I'm not sure if it helps, just more of a confidence thing for me. As for the trailer, I will always use a 4" Berkley Chigger Craw no matter if my jigs are for flipping or if they are for fishing deep rock piles. Like Dink said, with Powerbait scent is not as vital as it would be with unscented plastics. whenever I do use scent it is going to be Megasstrike. As for that pond in that pic, I would be pitching and flipping that dock pretty heavily with a flipping jig (hence my screen name ;D).

What time do you have to go fishing to beat this heat in Texas?
x2. If you don't like to night fish do what Raul said and drink a LOT of water or Gatorade.

WHERE TO KEEP EVERYTHING!!
Get an duffle bag. The size of the bag should depend upon how many plastics you have.

Jig kits?
I will usually start with the same color jig and trailer, but if that doesn't produce I will go with different colored jigs trailers.

What Boat Do YOU Think I should get?
My parents have informed me that in 7 years (when I graduate from college) they will get my a fully rigged bass boat. So I decided I better start looking ;D!!!!!!!!!!! What do you guys think would be a good choice for me? I am not talking about some $60,000 Nitro Z-9, but something in the $20,000 to $30,000 price range. Keep in mind that I don't really know a lot about bass boats, but I am trying to learn. Aren't great parents a fantastic bonus to life?

Unusual places you'd love to fish
This isn't really really off limits or unusual, but I would love to fish outside of North Carolina.

An all black Lunker Lure.

First time surf fishing
We catch Pampano in the surf at Topsail Island all the time. Live sandfleas work the best to catch them.
