  1. The Western Bass Club will be having a Fish-In where folks can see what a club environment is about on American Lake near Joint Base Lewis McChord on the 22nd of March and to kick it off we are doing a Breakfast at the launch at 6AM and don't worry if you do not have a boat as we can get you on one!! We hold one of these Fish-In's per month usually the first Saturday of the month and then have our club tournament on the third Saturday. Directions are as follows...... Directions: From Tacoma, drive I-5 south. Take exit 122 to Camp Murray (Berkley). Turn right on Berkley and then left on Portland Ave. Access is on left after bend in road. Directions: From Lacey, drive I-5 N toward Seattle/Tacoma. Take exit 122 for Berkeley St. Turn left at Berkeley St SW. Turn left at Portland Ave SW. Access is on left after bend in road. Our members are gonna set up tables and start cooking at 5:30 and get folks going by first light. Hope to see some folks there as we begin our 76th year as the oldest bass club in the nation!!! Some of the fish our president is famous for catching on American Lake!!!
  2. My trip just got way easier..... Just won $500.00 on the Mega Millions Lottery!!! 44 DAYS AND COUNTING!!!! :respect-059:
  3. And Moon Pies....... Bacon........Sausage..........Getting the Picture?

  5. I will be arriving the Tues 29th flight gets into Huntsville around 10 PM so Motel there, drive to the location in the AM, Hopefully fish with someone, make the Wine/Cheese Soiree, and I will be staying until Tues. the 6th leaving in the Am so if anyone has a spot to fish Monday the 5th let me know. THIS IS GONNA BE EPIC!!!
  6. Mac and anyone else coming for the first time or even, riding the fence.... I fly from Seattle, for the third time and even with the logistical task of arranging tackle, flights, connections and rental cars this has been a very pleasant set of events for me and a great way to test the waters on visiting our great fisheries.... Every year I seem to widdle down the price... so far I have airfare at $410. rental car at $200 and cabin shared rate at around $180 and some expenses, fuel, meals collectibles and I cannot find a fishing vacation for 6 days anywhere even near 2-3 times my costs!!! and I get to meet new/old friends, share techniques and learn new patterns!! Last year and a camcorder and a GoPro... Adding another GoPro type action cam for even more action video!!! So.... Look at what this trip offers... compare to guided trip prices and that should be all you need to decide!!! (Not a guided trip but folks here are pretty dang knowledgeable about these fisheries!!!) YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT!!! COME ON AND GET IT!!!
  7. That is for the TV schedule... for Extended Cast they still have the 2013 listings and I have already seen the old shows.... gonna send them a message on they're Facebook page and see.
  8. OK Folks...just booked a nice cheap flight, printed out the form and sending it off to Mike.... I am all in and will be ready for a lot more video action and hanging out with some pretty cool people!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! If the Union Contract does not go well might be selling some nice used fishing gear to get home!!!
  9. Fell short on some accomplished others... Did not catch the new PB, did not do well on new waters and did not fish Crankbaits on every outing as I had wanted.... On the accomplished side... Fished both of our Warrior Fishing events... Made several Cast for Kids events..... Did make it to the BR Roadtrip!!! Won two Club Events (One on Potholes Reservoir by 7 pounds!! one was our clubs 75th anniversary weekend Jack-N-Jill!!!) all in all a good year and already thinking of some more goals for this year!
  10. I only got 96 days this year but hope to get one more this weekend!!
  11. Promise not to bleed in your boat this time!!
  12. I am working towards making this trip... Our Union is in negotiations on a new 4 year contract so until the Strike option is resolved I cannot commit. Looking forward to seeing you all again and raising the bar towards a bigger / more fish this year!! P.S. Dinky and Rhino need a babysitter so I will do my best to not let them down!
  13. 1. Know the water your fishing and its structures. 2. Know the fish seasonal movements and routes. 3. use selected baits CONFIDENTLY..... Having confidence in what you use and how you present it is a major factor in fishing....if you cannot Visualize how your bait looks in the water and how fish relate to it, you will not do as well as someone who does.
  14. Too Bad you aren't in Seattle....we are having record runs of Pink Salmon which we catch with bass rods on urban rivers!!! Combat fishing in the Puyallup River and nice un-crowded fishing on the Green/Duwamish river!!! With Lake Washington right here also you could do 1/2 day river.... half day Bass!!
  15. Great Job!!!
  16. Took First in our clubs first Points Tournament of the year with 34.64 and in those two limits were three "Magic Fish" one of which was Big Fish of the event at 5.28 lbs!! so three more Magic Wands are on the way!!
  17. Tournament went very well as the large females were post/pre spawn and was able to find the ledges they liked and got First Place with 34.64 pounds and Big Fish at 5.28!! 15 boats with 23 anglers made the trip and a variety of patterns emerged but majority of them fished the abundant Smallmouth bite. I concentrated on only Largemouth. will post a pic when PhotoCRAPbucket starts working.
  18. ProCrafter replied to bighed's topic in Fishing Reports

  19. Look forward to seeing ya there! Gonna fish good...pre and post spawn fish!!
  20. Being from the Northwest I am inerested in south and warm....while we had some rain and wind at Pickwick the water was warm as were the fish so I am in for Pickwick, Kentucky lake, Guntersville, Bull Shoals, Toledo Bend,Eufaula even Lake Fork or Conroe in Texas......lots of warmer water and good populations of fish.
  21. The Western Bass Club is having its first Members points tournament for 2013 on Potholes Reservoir the 18th-19th and will be launching / weighing in at the Lind Coulee boat launch starting at 5:15 am and weighing in at 3 PM Saturday and 2PM Sunday.
