garlic vs coffee vs salt vs anise shad vs crawfish
I am a firm believer that scent makes no difference in the number of actual bites you get. However, i do believe that by masking foreign odors on the lure with scent, the fish will hold on to it way longer. That comes in handy when the bite is slow/soft and hard to detect. In any case, it cannot hurt to use it.

Would this be a good all around combo?
I would say that it is a lot better to get a quality rod and a bit cheaper real if you are on a budget. Trust me, you want the best rod you can afford for jigs and worms. Also, i wold suggest a MH/mod fast as a all purpose stick. GOOD LUCK

I can't find a crankbait rod - help!
It is surprisingly sensitive man! I can feel every vibration of a Rat-L-Trap while using 12lb mono!

Re: Best fluorocarbon for fishing cover???
I tried P Line and i hated it! It was very weak and not abrasion resistant at all. I have never tried the 100% Trilene on bait casting gear but i here its pretty good. It's abrasion resistance was pretty poor in TackleTours tests though!

Weightless plastics rod???
I went ahead and bought a rod for plastics from him today. It is labeled Mag Heavy/Ex Fast but it is identical in action to my 7' Mojo rod that is MH/F. I guess the smaller Powells are over rated in power and action. I am going to sale either the Powell or the Mojo since they are the same and i don't need both.

Boater Dies on Buggs
Sadly, no matter how much you tell people and plead with them to be safe, there will always be a few that are "indestructible"! A cousin of mine drowned in 4' of water 10 years ago because of unsafe acts on the water. Lets hope we don't lose anyone this year or any other.
