  1. I have been seeing G-Blanks a lot on Ebay lately! Are they good blanks, sensitivity, strength? What other known brands would you compare them to?
  2. I have spinning gear but i NEVER use it! I catch 90% of my fish pitchin/flippin scattered and heavy cover so i need casting gear. Either way i am going to need a new rod. I currently use the Mojo/Premier combo for pitching t-rigged plastics but feel it is too light for the task. So, if i make that my weightless combo than i need a new t-rigged plastics rod. That might just be what i will do. I have a 7' H/F rod i can use for that but i am really just trying to get the monkey off my back by buying a new rod!!!!!!! ;D
  3. I was thinking custom also. Anyone on here build custom rods?
  4. Man i have been down that road before(opening reels). I ruined two or 10 before i got it! ;D What i do is get a work bench and place every little part in a sequence according on how i removed it from the reel. Then i just follow the sequence when i go to put it back together.
  5. I forgot to mention i want a bait casting set up. Also, what line would you guys recommend? I was thinking maybe fluoro because i have a difficult time feeling hits with mono and weightless. The problem is most people say Senkos and flukes work best on light line. I fish mine in and around heavy cover so i need a heavier line. I like to flip a Senko into small openings in vegetation.
  6. Hey all! I need recommendations on what rod to use for weightless plastics. Power, size and action of the rod also. It will mainly be used for Senkos and flukes. I recently broke the rod that i was using for those techniques. I was thinking of using a St. Croix Mojo rod in 7' MH/F and a Revo Premier reel that i have. Would this be too much or too stiff for weightless rigs? Any help is appreciated.
  7. Thanks man, i will check it out!
  8. They are indeed quality rods and great customer service! But, do not trust their power/action ratings at all. I bought a 7' 6" heavy/fast and it was more like a medium/mod fast!
  9. Couldn't have said it better myself! Your gunna love FL!
  10. DINK WHISPERER replied to Tpup's topic in Introductions
    WELCOME HOME BRO!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
  11. What is the difference in the two? Which is better to get?
  12. Definitely the 7' 6" flippin stick. They are more versatile imo. You can use it for flippin/pitchin, froggin, carolina riggin etc. Why don't you check out the Powell Max flippin rods?
  13. No i sure don't andamtoft, but i will be ordering a spinning one soon. I'm sure they are identical to the casting series. I absolutely love the MAX rods man. My smallest is a 7' H/F that i use for plastics.
  14. Man, that is a beautiful lake body of water man!
  15. With the cold front coming through i would hit em with a jig and craw trailer. If they are really stubborn try a trick worm on a shakey head.
  16. What is the BTS and where can i get either of them? My boat is a mess right now guys!!!
  17. Boy do i have a story about this one! I use to have an old F150 with a bumper hitch on it. I use to pull my old 18FT Stratos boat around with it. One day i was fishing in a park with reclaimed phosphate pits. As i am leaving the dock after loading the boat i hit a pot hole at about 10MPH. I feel the truck get lighter, i look in the rear view and i can't see the top of my outboard as usual. My boat, trailer and bumper where still back where the pot whole was!!!! > The whole bumper and the hooks where the boat was chained to where being held on by four flimsy brackets with one bolt each! I had to call my bro to bring his truck and pick my boat up. I never trusted bumper hitches again!
  18. IMO, there are many better rods out there than those two. But for the $, the mojo just can't be beat. I absolutely love both of mine. They are very strong and very sensitive. I put Revo Premiers on mine and the whole combo weighs like 10oz! My all time favorite rods are the Powell Max line though. I fell in love with them right away.
  19. I've been using a white spinnerbait and no luck with that, before I leave for fishing I'l pick up two crank baits I guess. more advice anyone? thanks for the responses Make sure they are lipless crankbaits with loud rattles. Don't give up on them man, they produce!!
  20. FL freshwater license is $17. I have NEVER payed to launch my boat either! That is BS!!!!!!! >
  21. Listen, go somewhere that sales lures and get yourself a couple of 1/2oz Rat-L-Traps(or other lip less crankbaits) if you don't already have some. A few colors to consider are chrome/black or blue back, natural shad and fire tiger if the water is pretty stained. Just cast and retrieve it back. Be sure to change your retrieve speed until you find out what they want that day. These have never failed me anywhere! Also, look into some spinnerbaits in white/chartreuse and shad patterns. Work these the same way. Best of luck!!!!!
  22. They have had that hook since the Ribbit was introduced! I use to get mine from Boater's World.
