  1. Darn Pres Day sale got me this yr! Dobyns Savvy/G3 Revo SX, Veritas/G3 Revo S, Lews Tournmnt Pro(no rod yet), and a craaaap load of lures from BTD.com.
  2. 80s and Zara Spooks here........
  3. That is normal as long as they aren't deep you will be ok. Mine is an 02 and has them. Mine i think are from needing new bunk carpet though....
  4. Thank u sir....i knew there was someone here who did all that but couldn't find them. Already called Rich and he is putting something together as we speak....
  5. Hey guys, just wondering where everyone has been buying their Power Poles from? And if there is anywhere at all i can go to save some $$ on them. I think i decided on 2 Sportsman II series. Any help is welcome seeing as i am having a hard time coping with spending so much $$ on anchors, lol!
  6. I just did my Kielshield by myself(PITA), best $ i ever spent on my boat! I beach a lot here in FLs shallow lakes. I got a great deal too online.
  7. Like already stated, the cover decides what i use. My shortest for docks and scattered stuff is a G2 Crucial 7' 2". For moderate stuff like matted kissimmee grass or thick pads i use a G2 Crucial 7' 7". And for the slop like matted hydrilla and such i use a G2 Cumara 7'11".
  8. Have had both but somehow only the MGX avoided Craigslist! They are not even in the same league imo! The MGX is smoother, casts way farther, has better cast control.....the list goes on!
  9. Not gear maybe but buying my first bass boat. Its a whole new world and game out there with one!
  10. Thnx guys, i tried the G3 STX and even a Quantum Smoke on it but i keep coming back to the SX. Who wuda thought, Shimano & Abu playing nice!
  11. Junebug Senko T-rigged weightless and a gold/black back 1/2 oz rat-l-trap. Anytime, anywhere.....
  12. Exactly what i was going to say! Braid for most all my set-ups. On the rare occassion that i fish on a clear lake, i will tie a BPS XPS fluoro leader.
  13. I use the new Clarus 6' 8" crankbait rod for topwaters in M/F with 15lb big game. It is very light and has a surprising amount of power. I have a Gen3 Revo STX on it.
  14. Im going to do just one for now.....because its the one i just got today. It is quickly becoming a favorite though! It is a new series Shimano Cumara 7' 11" flippin rod paired with a Gen3 Revo SX. The colors of the reel and rod go perfectly. This set-up is actually lighter than my 7' 7" Crucial and STX. I got it as a punching set up but i think the tip is a bit too stiff for that technique. Anyhow, its a keeper for sure!
  15. These things are pretty under rated so a MH is like a Heavy to me. I had a MH 7' for pitching plastics briefly. Gave it to my fiahing buddy, didnt like the feel or stiffness of it.
  16. Wow, you guys have a lot of rods! I have a total of 7 and am covered for all techniques i use. They mostly stay in my rod lockers. My flippin stik gets used the most.
  17. Absolutely all about location. Been catching huge spawners here n FL since Dec......
  18. Man, glad i don't have "one of those" wifes! Ha, just told her this weekend i "need" dual power poles to keep fishing. She said well than get them already! Woo hoo.....
  19. I absolutely agree with you. This STX is my only RH retrieve reel and it bothers me! If they ever release a LH i will sale mine and get it.
  20. I use to live in an apt complex and hated it for this same issue! Every vehicle you parked there had to be in use daily or it had to go. Anything trailered like a boat had to be outside the property in a narrow stretch that a bulldozer cleared in the woods and was then paved. I dont think so not my baby! I kept mine at my n-laws in there shed til we bought our house.
  21. I use a technique specific 6' 10" MH/XF for spinners and buzzers. It handles weights up to 3/4 oz no problem.
  22. Definately a fast IPT reel on that set up! My jig/worm rod has an 8.0:1 STX gen 3 on it and its perfect! The majority of my hits are always on the fall. Line slacks up and the fish starts to swim away. You have to reel slack in, hit em and get them moving your way as fast as you can.
  23. I would definately creep some swim baits along near the bottom. Try big & small ones til u find a preference. When i was shore bound i would catch them in ponds on a Yum minnow after freezes slooooow rolling it.
