  1. NEVER, absolutely no beer in my boat at any time.
  2. I agree with road warrior............................ http://www.***.com/XCalibur_Xr50_Rattle_Bait/descpage-XCRB.html#pImage
  3. Guess you didn't read the first three sentences? Just letting him know they are not always in the thickest parts.
  4. All i ever fish is thick pad fields here in FL. I found that areas with scattered pads near thicker parts are hawg magnets. Top water baits produce well in those areas. If you are in the thick stuff a stout flipping combo will be best. Accuracy and stealth are IMO the number one factors in successfully fishing pads. Practice hitting the target 100% every time and it becomes second nature. Trust me, i almost quit when i first started fishing the pads. I use a pitching method rather than a flip. You get more distance and stand a better chance at hooking a big one before it hears you. Try to be as quite as possible and keep the motor as low as you can get away with. They tend to spook easy when a boat is coming through thumping pads around.
  5. Revo STX for flippin'/pitchin' and a Revo Toro for swimbaits
  6. My best results have been in black color and the 7" with Chartreuse tail. I almost always use a 3/16oz sinker for the 7" and an 1/8oz for the 10". Cast to you're target and crawl it back slowly keeping bottom contact.
  7. Spending long nights in my garage working on all my equipment(boat, gear etc) down to the letter and than enjoying my labor out on the water. And the freedom i feel out there too.
  8. Like stated above, do not for any reason base your choice on the HP restrictions of the bodies of water. Look on Craigslist and i bet you will find a great deal for $3000. I have found all of my bass boats on that site for amazing deals. The key is to do as much research as you can and be patient. Great deals can be had if you have patience.
  9. Hey all, I was considering buying a HumminBird 768 unit on sale at Cabela's but they just sold out. I need help picking one out but don't want to spend a fortune. I don't suppose i need anything too fancy because i rarely fish anything but shallow vegetation. I just want something reliable for those occasional trips to the phosphate pits. I would like to stay with a HummingBird since the holes are already drilled from my last unit and a Lowrance stand would expose the holes and look wierd. I am open to anything that's reliable and a good deal though. Feel free to recommend other models because i need one with GPS on the console and something for the bow too.
  10. X2, all my boats have been found here.
  11. This is what i use..................work perfect. http://reviews.basspro.com/2010/44440/reviews.htm
  12. R2S is by far the best frog i have ever used period. The keel is more defined so it has more action than others and is easier to get that action. Also a lot softer than any frog i have used. Who ever can't use one of these really needs to practice!
  13. Zoom Mag II is killer
  14. Right now all i take is a flippin' stick/worm rod and a rattle trap setup. Flippin' and pitching dark colored soft plastics around the south end island and Henderson's Cove is very productive. Also, if you find offshore hydrilla run the trap over it to get reaction strikes. PM SENT
  15. I wouldn't winterize it now but would definitely give it a good tune up in the spring.
  16. I have an 18' 6" boat with a Merc 150 HP and IMO it is the perfect size. Handles very well in rough water, slow by no means and fuel is not bad at all. If you can afford the 20' and fuel for it than go for it.
  17. I think i will leave it be for now. Don't want to damage anything!
  18. Should i remove this transducer when i remove the fish finder? Can it even be removed, looks glassed in there?
  19. All you need IMO................. http://www.***.com/descpageXCALLPSCRNK-XCRB.html
  20. I found great success pairing jigs with completely different non-matching colored trailers. On a Black/Blue jig i like a Red/Orange life like craw from Charlie Worms.
  21. Finding and catching fish offshore in the deep.
  22. The house brand looks just like a Spro to me man. Many of BPS brand stuff is actually made for them by the bigger more well known companies too.
  23. Same thing, they even have the same model #.
