  1. I use them on jigs too Ncbass, just forgot to mention them. I'm usually zapping the trailer and get the skirt a little too.
  2. I bought several of their walking stick baits. Now I know why they were on sale. They lay over on their side when you try to get the slightest bit aggressive with them. They look sweet, but.... :-/
  3. I don't think they "attract" bass in that sense, but I do use it to make them hold on just that second longer for me to know they're there and get a hookset on them. I only use it on plastics. Prog
  4. I've started taking mine out, putting them in sandwich baggies, and spraying a shot or two of B.A.N.G. into the bag, and mixing them up. So far so good. Oh, the reason I do is because I store the baits together in larger zip-lock freezer bags and the sandwich baggies fold and roll better than the original packages, giving me more room. So I can buy more. ;D Prog
  5. No pics. Which is the 2nd time I've had a pb without a pic. Need to get one of those disposable ones to carry around.
  6. Soft Plastic- This is supposed to encompass everything from tubes to worms? Oh well....Zoom just for all around variety Cranks- Bandit Spinnerbait- Strike King Buzzbaits- Cavitron Jigs- Vertical Lures Jig-X for heavy thick stuff, Jewel Baot Co. Spider Jig for more finesse. Did notice the weird chemical reaction with other plastics too though.
  7. Finesse Wroms- Zoom and Mann's 6" stright tail worms- Roboworm 7-7.5" rippletail worms- Culprit or Strike King's Shaw Grigsby's Series 6" Curl Tail Worms- Renegade (dunno...they just work for me) Senko types- Kinami Flash, YUM Dingers, Wave Worm Tiki Dip Sticks Beavers- YUM Wooly Bug 4" Tubes- YUM Garrett Tubes, Strike King Bleeding Bait 5-6" Tubes- Reaction Innovation, Smitty's Crankbaits- Bandit jerkbaits- Rapala Minnows, Husky Jerks, X-Raps and Rogues Topwaters- Berkley Frenzy Poppers, Pop-R, Spooks, Heddon Moss Boss Frogs- Stanley Ribbit, Spro Trick Worms- Haw River Tackle Chart/camo Spinnerbaits- Strike King, sometimes, my own Buzzbaits- Strike King Bleeding Bait, Cavitron Hooks- Gamakatsu Shaky style Heads- Shak-EE, Tru-Tungsten Ikey Heads, Luck-E-Strike Bullet & Flipping Weights- Tru-Tungsten Line- Berkley and Sufix only
  8. Fished a couple of hours this morning at a local pond that I'd been afraid losing it's bass population to marauding bluegills. Still could be I suppose, but I did catch my biggest bass ever. 6.5 pds caught on a chart/blue back Bandit Footloose retrieved tight against the weedline. I've been a Bandit fan for a couple of years now, but this year I can't seem to go wrong with this particular crankbait. Anyone else throwing them? Prog
  9. That sounds good, I've used it before in other applications and liked it. Thanks for the advice. Prog
  10. I only use swimming frogs with the braid because mine are always moving, never giving the braid time to do anything except pull in the fish. Floating frogs should be okay with braid in the slop should you want to stop it alot or for long periods of time. Haven't tried it in open water, I usually use my rod I have Iron Silk on for that. Just the way my combos pan out. Prog
  11. I typically crank from 0 to 10 feet and use 10 pd Berkley XL. I want to be able to crank alot of timber and not worry as much about breaking off, so can anyone recommend a good line and test? I thought fluoro was the thing, but don't I want some stretch? Thanks. Prog
  12. I too like the JigXs, and also liking Jewel Bait Co's Spider Jig
  13. Watermelon/Pearl Stanley Ribbit on 20 pd Berkley Iron Silk 5" Junebug/Chartreuse Wave Worm Tiki Dip Stick on 10 pf Sufix Pro Mix 5" Coonnasty Reaction Innovations Boom Boom Tube w/ Smart Pegged 1/2 oz Tru-Tungsten Flipping Weight and red 4/0 Gamakatsu EWG on 50 pd Power Pro Chartreuse/Blue Back Bandit Footloose on 10 pd Berkley Vanish Transition
  14. I use a chartreuse skirted Cavitron, 3/8 oz, with a red blade. It's all purpose for me, great for low-light and muddy water. Usually, if I need a top water during the day I end up using something else like a popper or a walking bait. Prog
  15. I love the Pacas, both baby and regular. I use the babys as trailers and to flip on a lighter rig, and the big ones for flipping heavier cover. I use Okeechobee Bug and Cajun Craw colors.
  16. That makes me ill. I hooked a bluegill in the eye with a pop-r the other day and watched him swim in slow lazy circles until he died, I felt terrible. Same goes for the few other fish I gut hooked, gill hooked and belly hooked. I hate hurting things like that in the pursuit of pleasure. Prog
  17. Red Shad, Tequila Shad, Moccassin.
  18. That was great LBH, thanks. Prog
  19. Welcome dude. I use Culprits, Roboworms and Strike King's Shaw Grigsby's Rippletails. All in natural patterns.
  20. Hadn't thought of the Slider heads. Good idea. Prog
  21. Wickyman, I have the Okeechobee Fats bag too and love it. Right now I operate out of a big duffel bag, and load the pre-labled boxes in the Fats bag with what I need on a case by case basis along with spinnerbait and buzzbait wallets by Falcon. Working well so far, but it does mean a lot of transfering stuff around. Prog
  22. I can't wait to show my wife the pics of "The Natural's" tackle and clue her in on just how easy she really does have it around here. Prog
  23. I flip a Reaction Innovations Tube rigged Texas style with a 4/0 EWG and a 1/2 oz Tru-Tungsten flipping weight (Penetrators are good too) and pegged with the new Smart Pegs, also from Tru-Tungsten. I just recently started using braid as well, so far so good. Prog
  24. Sam, he was 15 pounds if he was an ounce. Had him hooked so long, he ran me around the pond a couple of times. After about an hour of tugging back and forth, the fish and I decided to take a 15 minute lunch break. I set a couple of small boulders around my rod and went to the car to get some PB&J sammiches. When I got back, there he was up on the bank trying to roll the boulders off my rod. Silly fish....then he finally conceded defeat since we were both getting a bit bored with it all. Then I went home. Ha! I think we ticked off some of those Chowan River supporters last night, but hey...it's a democracy. I would have actually supported the thing if we all agreed on a 14" slot for both rivers instead of just saying 'hope we dont get caught". Anyway, a pretty cool get together. You going to the "Rama this weekend? Prog
  25. The paranoia exhibited by some of our bass club members about not wanting to let some secrets out has all but killed any "fun" fishing talk at our meetings. I think that has been the biggest disappointment with my club. We spend 2 hours at a meeting, and you never discuss techniques or lures or anything like that because everyone's holding close to the chest. We fish one tourney a month...what are the odds a discussion on how the chatterbait should be fished will screw someone out of a good finish somewhere at the least, a month down the road what with condition changes, tides, etc etc? It can be discouraging. And this isn't what one would call a big money club. Prog
