  1. I'm on a jig high myself right now. I'd never caught one on a jig before till last year when I was swimming a Jewel Bait Spider jig back to the bank and one nailed it. Caught another doing roughly the same thing with a BooYah Boo Bug. This year I finally caught one INTENTIONALLY fishing in the traditional manner on one I'd put together myself using Dave's Tourney Tackle components and a NetBait Paca trailer. Now I'm all fired up on them and am going out today with just four rods with different styles of jigs to further acclimate myself. I'm finding I like recessed line tie jigs best, Dave's King Sling is awsome, Revenge baits has a nice one, Outkasts Pro jig is good, now I'm eyeballing the Terminator Pro's Secret Jig. Anyone have opinions on the Terminator? Thanks, Prog
  2. Watermelon Candy and Okeechobie Craw.
  3. Berkley Frenzy Poppers, and Zara Spooks. The Frenzy is a fish catching dynamo. It pops AND walks.
  4. I wondered the same thing, and didn't realize those mud towers were crawdad holes. I just thought they were really big mud dawber holes. :-[ Thanks dsaavedra. Prog
  5. Penut Butter & Chaeese nabs, banana moonpies, Propel water.
  6. I'm using a 6.5" Berkley Lightning Rod (med. Heavy) with a Shimano Coriolis Reel and 17 pd Spiderwire EZ Mono. I also use it for buzzbaits and chatterbaits.
  7. This year I'm using Sufix Pro Mix, 10 pd.
  8. Bandit Footloose in Chart./blue back and Series 100 and 200 in Rootbeer Chartreuse can't be beat.
  9. 7.5" Culprit in Red Shad or Tequila Shad. Roboworm FX Zipper Worm in Aaron's Magic.
  10. I use 6" Roboworms, mostly in Aaron's Magic colors and Neon Bluegill. Sometimes T-rig, usually a jighead or shaky head. Depends on the bottom.

On jigs I use Net Bait Paca Craws and Chunks. On spinnerbaits, simple split tail trailers or the tail section of a Culprit worm. Prog
  12. For finesse jigs I like Booyah's Boo Bug and Jewels Spider Jig. My new flipping jig is a Dave's Tournament Tackle King Sling with a Net Bait Paca Chunk trailer. Prog
  13. Kind of embarassing and I DONT use it ALL the time, but mine is usually "Hell Yeah! That's what I'm talkin' about!" My wife rolls her eyes. :
  14. My faves are Bass Pros, (straight to the point) and the Elite series. I like In-Fisherman and Anglers Edge. I'll never dislike Bill Dance cuz he started me out fishing, but I don't watch him anymore. Don't like Roland Martin and Fishing University puts me to sleep. As does the College edition of Ultimate Match Sleeping...uh...Fishing. Now, I'm a true believer in Sufix line, so I can overlook Shaw going on and on about it, I've even heard he's a great guy. But I can't tolerate anymore of the giggles and "Oh my LORRRDDDD!!!" over a three pound bass. Same reason Dean Rojas went from being a fave to not caring much for. Him and his giggling and "Kermie this and Kermie that". Please.
  15. All I've ever done with them was T-rig them and fish either like a worm, or add a heavier weight and flip it. Prog
  16. I'm another big Bandit supporter. Especially in the Footlooose and 1 through 3 hundred series. Didn't care much for the Flat Maxx, but I usually haven't had any luck with anybody's flat baits. My colors are chart/blue back, Louisiana shad, Roootbeer/chart, Taco Salad. There's also either a yellow or chart with a brown spatter I just call vomit that's pretty good too. Haven't had trouble with the hooks, but out of the box crank hooks are never as good as they could be. Prog
  17. I tell 'ya...all year long I've been using my Bandit Footloose as a "wake-bait" and I've had lots of luck. PB of 7 pounds came on this bait while waking it. Chart/Blue back seems the most consistant. Prog
  18. Mine is a Quantum Octane spinning combo I got at Dicks. Something about it is just magic.
  19. I flip 5" Raction Innovations tubes in mostly the Coonnasty color on an Owner weighted tube hook. Only other thing I flip is a beaver style bait on a 3/0 hook with a tungsten bullet weight.
  20. I finally caught a few on small jigs like the Spider and Boo Bug. Next year I'll try my bigger jigs like the Jig-X.

I used one a couple of weeks ago around 5 am, pre-light and caught a few decent bass. I use one with a blue and black skirt and add a Netbait baby paca craw to it. Prog
  22. Awsome catch Chris, and great pics! Congrats!
  23. Finally, after years of trying to catch a bass on a jig, I got two this morning. Caught 2 just under three pounds swimming a Jewel Bait Co. Pro Spider Jig by some grass. Had a Zoom Mini swim chunk on as a trailer. Was using a Shimano Coriolis Med. heavy combo with 20 pd Berkley Iron Silk. It was also unbearably hot around 98 degrees, so, after catching a total of six, I called it a day. Prog
  24. What a difference a day makes. I went fishing this morning, and while stocking the box last night, remembered this thread and decided to try the Matzuo walking minnow again for the hell of it. 2 pounder on the second cast of the day. They still suck when compared to a spook, but , when you work it just right, it'll run right. Prog
