  2. Hey, I appreciate that Sam. I'll definately take a look and talk things over with my bosses as far as flexability is concerned. How far away from the area do you guys fish?
  3. I'd love to belong to a club here in the Richmond Va area, but just don't have the time as I manage a Mcdonalds practically 6 days a week. I'm also a non-boater and I hear horror stories about how they're treated.
  4. I am going to ask for permission to fish a Veterans Cemetary pond and hopefully it is full of nice fish. They'll say no just in case there's a zombie uprising. God forbid you should be eaten and your kin would sue their ***** off. I'm a non-boater, and I'm really sick of how all our local ponds and lakes are being choked out by subdivisions and corporate headquarter buildings. I realize that don't apply to golf courses, but this was as good a place as any to vent. >
  5. Thanks LBH, I know bones didn't REALLY break ;D but you got the jest of it. My biggest was a 5 pounder on a plastic worm that felt as if she were half asleep and picked up sleep-swimming. But, it was hot out, maybe that explains her lack of much fight.
  6. I'll be the first to say I don't get a LOT of fishing time, but I'm wondering about some comments I keep running into everywhere and whether or not it's just exageration. i.e "I was fishing a Rat-L-Trap when I had a bone jarring strike." or, "Man, I was running a spinnerbait past the lilly pads and about had my arm ripped out of the socket by a big bubba." I've never had what I might call a seriously HARD strike that I felt in my arms. Just you know, tightness on the line all of a sudden, then some strong pulling. But bone jarring strikes? What IS that, and has anyone here actually had that happen?
  7. Yeah, I think the bass are under those overhanging tree branches, there's so many of them. If there's nothing wrong with the pond that is.
  8. Could it be those damned Snakeheads I keep hearing about? I don't know what they eat or anything.
  9. It seems some of you have been fortunate enough to have met some of these guys, But I have only met one or two in a simple meet and greet. Simply basing my choice off what I see on TV since there's not much else to base it on. Every star has a bad day, and not every fan is a good one.
  10. Hank Parker cuz he's laid back.
  11. I agree. Rick Clunn for integrity if nothing else.
  12. I've had my eye on the War Eagles for a while. But, mainly I'm using Hawg Callers, Terminators, and those little Wal-mart spinnerbaits. To me, their almost like mini-Terminators. Oh, I also use Horizon Ghost Minnows with Okie blades. Usually I use the tail end of a Mann's Jelly worm as a trailer if I need one.
  13. ??? Oh my God. I've never heard of these. What's going on? WHAT'S GOING ON????!?!!!????
  14. Hilton...since Smith already is at least ONE of them, lol. Red hooks....awsome inventiveness or bullsh*t?
  15. The wind beats me down too brother. But when I have no choice, I try hard with the heavy Traps and big double willow spinnerbaits.
  16. 5 lbs dead even. Didn't measure. Caught on a Scumfrog in the pads on a little pond in Hanover Virginia.
  17. Johnson Silver Spoons with a trailer, Heddon Moss Boss, and my current fave, the Scumfrog are all great for paddin' bass.
  18. This is the baddest *** forum ;D I think I've ever belonged to. Full of great info and people, thanks to all responsible for running this place for us.
  19. Don't sweat Dustin. I left fishing for about five years, then had a relapse, found this place and was confronted with like 15 threads all containing the word Senko. I was like..."I don't understand....???"
  20. XL, Earnhardt Jr. In or Out of the Chase for the Cup?
  21. Born in S.C, raised in Savannah, GA. Now living in Mechanicsville, VA.
  22. Thanks Glenn. Can't believe I missed that on this very site.
  23. That was a great link Argyll, thank you very much.
  24. Thanks for everyone's tips. I know about the rubber versus plastic thing, it's just how I was raised.
  25. I'm interested in making my own rubber baits as a hobby but am having difficulty finding places online to get the supplies. I've spent the last hour or two looking around and have found just one, Barlow's. Can anyone give me some links to some suppliers?
