  1. Those were all some great answers and a big help in me figuring it out. I think I was looking for something to be wrong as an explanation, and maybe there just doesn't have to be one. Either way, just changed the line on my worm rod and am getting ready for 2 days in a row. Thanks alot ya'll. Prog
  2. The only thing I started gaining interest in was building on my vinyl record collection and that's always been second fiddle to fishing. My priorities have pretty much remained the same. Maybe it's just one of those life things. If I suddenly develop a passion for a Porsche and a blonde I'll know what's up. Wait...the wife's a blonde.
  3. I actually have to claim 2. One when there's biguns around, one for regulars. I like 7.5" Red Shad Culprits on a 4/0 Gamakatzu EWG, and for the other I like a 6" Roboworm straight tail (weird name for color, can't remember it) on a 2/0 Owner offset. Using Tru-Tungsten weights.
  4. wacky rigged senkos and green pumpkin slider worms.
  5. I caught a 7 pd cat on a senko. The lure had just hit the water and the line took off. I thought I had a big one, then I could see the rolling wretched as he wrapped several dozen yards of my line around his nasty body. I was ticked as I hadn't caught anything all day.
  6. Sweet. Love me some Cavitron.
  7. Pretty cool Sam. Funny, but the same thing happened to me and one of MY Bandits at the little pond off rt 301where you and I met. Mine was a tennessee shad 200. Found it after a month or so. Had hooked a nice one and my line popped at the not. A little rust at the tie, but still in my arsenal.
  8. That's pretty badass. Thanks.
  9. Hi all, it's been a little over a year since I last posted here and was wondering about something. For the last few years I had been fishing at least a couple of times a week. Had lots of rods, more tackle than an average sized tackleshop, belonged to a bass club, etc etc. All the things an addict does. Then, without warning in the middle of last year I suddenly started losing interest. Didn't read fishing, didn't watch fishing. Made myself go fishing just cuz I thought I'd re-awaken what HAD to be a bizarre phase. But just yesterday I went fishing for only the third time this year. It felt good, I have to say, though I didn't catch anything. Bad luck didn't factor into the slow down as I usually catch SOMEthing. But I was just wondering if anyone else had gone through the same thing. I hope that yesterday was the beginning of a resurgence in my love for this sport, but I'm not going to push it yet. Prog
  10. Use a Falcon weighted 4/0 or 5/0 hook. When they were in short supply, I used an Owner screw lock hook and a rubber core sinker clambed to the shank to get them deep. I love the action of them, but haven't gotten bit yet.
  11. I second the Reaction Innovations Boob Boom Tubes. Wonderful action, great colors.
  12. Warmer, Dave's website hasn't been updated since 06 for some reason, but I buy the King Sling's from my local shop. Don't have a link for the predator. I think you should be able to just Google it. Haven't used the Paca Toads, but they look nice.
  13. Now we just need a cream and sugar attractant to coat the tubes with. ;D
  14. I've always been a Bandit crankbait guy, but finally used the Bomber Fat Free shad in Citrus shad color cuz of all the hype about it. On the third cast I hooked probably a 6 pounder with it and all was well until the bait broke in half. No kidding. Bottom with hooks took off with the fish, part with the line tie bounced off my forehead causing me untold aggravation. I'm still a Bandit guy.
  15. There's a couple I like. The Outkast pro staff jig, The Predator jig, Dave's Tourney Tackle King Sling and Booyah's Boo Bug. All with either Net Bait Baby Paca Craws or Zoom swimming chunks. I lean towards the smaller sizes for the shallows and light cover. Oh, Jewel Bait Co's Spider jig is good too.
  16. Chrome/blue back, and frog. Lots of them have the same white belly meaning they catch us not the fish.
  17. Thanks for the replys guys. I'm a manager for McDonalds...and I'm thinking it can't be much worse than that. Prog
  18. Haha......yeah, the critters I deal with now would be gone. I appreciate the comments Sam. It;d be cool to get together and fish again sometime. I've lost my papers with everyone's phone numbers so why don't you PM me and I'll get in touch. Prog
  19. I'm getting ready to talk to these guys about a management position at the new Bass Pro Shops down the road, I recall some of the members here have worked or still work for these guys and would like some feedback on how they are as an employer. Thanks in advance. Prog
  20. I love the Roboworms, but have used the Zoom Trick Worms and YUM Houdini worms also with success.
  21. The first time I fished it, I caught a 5 pounder on the dge of a shallow weedbed. Never caught anything on it after that. Nothing. nada. The fact that the bite was a reaction strike is probably the only reason it got bit.
  22. Yeah, a fluke in the same color scheme as the baby bass, or closest possible.
  23. T-rigged Reaction Innovations Boom Boom tube.
  24. If I'm in thick cover flipping, I use a heavy action rod. If I'm on the outside of weedbeds or just open water, I go med. Heavy. Prog
