MEMBER CHALLENGE-Fine tuned & ready 2go(revised)
Let me see if I understand this...the sign up list we currently have is the one that will be for July's challenges? Ok, I have already recieved a challenge and have responded to it. I have NOT fished it yet. Should I go ahead and fish it? I haven't challenged anyone yet, so do I wait for the first week of July? Sorry...I'm just a tad slow today. Prog

Bassin' from the banks..a newbie here
Gators AND smallies. Wow. I'd stick to spinnerbaits and worms. Topwaters in the morning, evening, and anytime it looks like there's a topwater bite going on regardless of the time of day. Prog

The Worst
Jigs and C-Rigs. I don't know what the problem is.

Best summertime baits, presentations, patterns
So far, my patterns have been yo-yoing a Chrome/Blue back Rat-L-Trap off the bottom, dragging frogs into holes in the slop salad and just leaving them there for a long time with subtle twitching, and buzzbaits shallow and early. But, it's yet to hit REAL high temps here. Supposed to be 95 tomorrow, the highest so far in Va. Marion

Storm Concerns
About ten years ago, I got stuck on a reservoir with a dead battery as a nasty thunderstorm snuck up on me from behind the trees along the bank I was fishing. Anyway, it was so bad and the lightning so sharp I beached the boat behind some dudes house and knocked on his door for shelter. So...now I'm pretty phobic about lightning when I'm outside. I mean, I get FREAKED. My question is, what do the tourney guys do during bad storms? I just joined a bass tourney club and it occured to me that this is going to happen again most likely ( storms blowing up). From what little coverage of The Classic I saw at Toho, you just keep fishing. Doesn't that cut against conventional wisdom? You on a boat is the highest point out in the middle of a lake. I don't wanna seem like a sissy in one of my tourneys, but I'll be a sissy with a heartbeat.

Proper Way to weigh a bass?
There's a pic in my BPS catalog of a hand held weigh scale in which the fish has actually been impaled through the lower jaw by the hook of the scale. Is this the way it's supposed to be done? I always thought you gently hung them by the gill slit. I dont much like the "through the lip" way. Marion

swivels
I use snaps, but no swivels, with cranks, topwater plugs, and some minnow baits.

Had the Bait Monkey Caged. That is, Until...
I was surfing BPS, Cabela's and various Ebay stores looking for fishing shirts. I had links to almost every shirt around, from regular Colimbia shirts all the way to $98.00 tournament shirts. I decided I'd lobby the better half and had about 15 little windows each displaying a different shirt. I sat and started rambling on and on about the different styles, the fabrics, the logos. According to the wife, a strange gleam came to my eyes. She patted me on the hand and said..."Honey...you have to stop...this isn't good for you." So, in her words...we negotiated a deal. I was ecstatic...I'd have to just hold off on fishing stuff for a couple of weeks to get the shirt I wanted. No problem. A day later, some people I pick up for work gave me about forty dollars worth of gas money. So...I went to Greentop Sporting Goods and blew it all. I came home and was stowing the gear away when the wife drove up in the driveway. I scrambled, throwing stuff into closets, other bedrooms. I tossed a worm wrap under our bed. Don't you know she went right to the bed, got down on the floor and peeked under the bed looking for a pair of shoes??? Pulled out the worm wrap with the tags still on it. I began ranting about how it was MY car, MY gas money....MY TACKLE!. She sat down on the bed, patted the spot next to her and said..."Sweetie...it's fine if you wanted to use your money on fishing stuff...it's YOUR money."I was nodding in triumph when she said..."So, what are you going to do when you run out of gas?" :'(

Do Tiki Sticks work as well as a Senko?
I LIKE Tiki Sticks, but for some reason I only catch small fish with them. I turn to them when I'm hard up for ANY kind of bite this side of a mosquito. Marion

help with conditions
I go almost exclusively with spinnerbaits in this weather. Usually a willow colorado combo. I've taken a liking to the mylar skirts too. In the off times I dont go with a spinner, it'll be a crankbait. Prog

Junebug in the clearance bins???
Hehheh! Exactly what I did, filled up an entire Quantum worm bag with worms, lizards and trailers. Thanks. Prog

Junebug in the clearance bins???
I know the color thing is mostly relative to what pleases US visually, but lately I've been finding alot of junebug colored lures on sale, in clearance bins, etc etc, with no real regard to brands, though there were alot of Strike King 3X baits. Junebug's always been a productive color for me, so what's up? Oh, have seen this at three different stores lately. Prog

setting my tackle box or boxes up
I use an Ockeechobie Fats bag and love it. I have about 6 Plano trays split about 50/50 with cranks and minnow baits, then critter baits, jigs and frogs. I use the worm bags inside the top flap for my fave plastics, then have a Quantum Worm binder inside. I also have a Berkley Spinnerwrap prototype that slides into a mesh catch-all in the back. Side pockets carry smaller boxes forterminal tackle, scents, pliers, etc etc. I love da Fats.

Know your prey !: Bass Senses II
I have Cajun red fishing line on one of my rods, but it's the one I use for fishing junk and lilly pads, so sight might not be an issue, BUT...if I'm using it in say 6 ft of water, do the fish see a glowing red laser beam being emitted by my jig or worm?
