While I aint no river rat I will wonder over to Toro Creek below the Toledo Bend dam which has extremely fast cold shallow water that is loaded with Kentucky (spotted) bass. My must productive technique is a Texas rig with a ¼ oz bullet weight, 2/0 hook, & a Zoom Baby Brush Hog in Watermelon/Neon. I'll make a long cast up stream and give the rig just enough hop to make the current carry the bait down stream.

I almost never use a bait with rattles but muddy water is one condition when I'll use one & this is my weapon of choice. Texas rigged craw worm (mud bug), brass bullet weight, & a glass bead

What exactly are you trying to accomplish, just adding a floor & needing to add angles at the bottom of the seat?

In the Aerospace Industry it is known as installing fasteners wet with either a sealant or primer. As long as there is no metal-to-metal contact of dissimilar metals galvanic corrosion cannot occur.

The absolute most productive jig on Toledo Bend is an Oldham's Lures Trailer Hitch Jig, 3/8 oz Black/Blue, Gene Larew Salty Hawg Craws in 6 with 1 ½ cut off the tail.

It would depend on who the guide is I would hire George Welcome or Tom Redington 8-)

Not only do I fish worms but I fish worms at night; years of having limited or no visibility has heightened my awareness of what is taking place below the surface. On days/nights when there is little to no wind I can feel the thump of a ¼ oz weight when it hits bottom; this is what night fishing teaches you and why I feel no need to stare at my line. Since I've fished Texas Rigs for close to 40 yrs I was taught the ole school technique Rolo mentioned in the thread about feel bites on the fall and it is worth repeating. "Semi-slack" line has become a household expression among fishermen, and as Avid suggested, even if the line is lying in loose coils on the water, it won't matter if you're watching the far end of visible line on the surface. Maintaining a slack line removes all line-drag and gives the lure the most seductive descent. In spite of that fact, I confess that I prefer to feel the bass strike, so I fish accordingly. Rather than use a semi-slack line, I normally fish more of a "near-tight" line, a subtle but importance difference. Try This: Tie on a heavy weight (say 1oz), step outside in your backyard, cast the weight onto your lawn, then slowly crank out all line-slack until the line is as straight as possible. Now drop the rod only slightly so the tip-top guide moves just 1-inch toward the weight. You will notice that one-inch of slack line has put about 8 to 10" of belly in the line, as measured from the original taut line to the bottom of the droop. It's not easy to do and takes a little practice, but as the lure is falling, if you stay just behind a tight line by limiting the line-sag to 10 inches, you will "feel" the vast majority of strikes whether it's windy or calm. Feel for the bite Unless it's near dead still it doesn't do much good to watch your line razyrsharpe says I feel the tap, and then I look for the line to "change direction". If it begins to move in a manner that suggests free will, set the hook Dude I've already set hook on this fish

Here's what I know based on 15 years as a Manufacturing Engineer in the Aerospace Industry and I can give you the technical data if required. In order for galvanic corrosion to occur, three elements are required. 1) Dissimilar metals 2) Metal-to-metal contact 3) Metals in the same conduction solution (usually called an electrolyte) If any of these elements is missing, galvanic corrosion cannot occur. If, for example, the direct contact between the two metals is prevented (plastic washer, paint film etc.) there cannot be galvanic corrosion. Electrical conduit and the extruded aluminum angles Black Bass would purchase from a local lumber yard are light years apart in design and are no comparison. Now is this to say you boat will corrode to dust in a matter of months? No I'm not saying you can not use stainless fasteners, what I am saying to be sure to us a protective coating between the two metals.

I'm telling y'all if you truly want to learn what a bite fells like on Texas rigs, wacky rigs, Carolina rigs, jigs, or any slow moving bait y'all gotta give night fishing a try. It will totally chance your thought process

Just because a bass is aggressive does not mean they will hit any lure you throw, sometimes they are in the mood for top water lures, some times they are in the mood for bottom bouncing lures, & some times they are in the mood for mid-depth lures.
