I killed the bait monkey
Ok let's explain it where y'all can understand it I've got $550 in my wallet which is the cost of a new Chronarch Mg and A G Loomis Rod. I only spend $125 for the reel and $175 for the rod for a total of $300 The original amount in my wallet of $550 minus the cost of $300 leaves me with $250 I would say the bait monkey lost! Oh yea Long Mike my salary at Academy is not my only income

Getting that good of a deal on a rod will be a little bit harder since the only high end rods sell are Shimano Curcial, Falcon (some new & some old), American Rod Smith, & Castaway.

Cali Hawg Hunters vs Regular Bass Fisherman
Trophy anglers goal is to catch the biggest bass in a particular body of water and it doesn't matter if they live on the left hand coast, the right hand coast, or some where in between. Tournament anglers goal is to win money by catching the biggest 5 bass limit in a particular body of water and it doesn't matter if they live on the left hand coast, the right hand coast, or some where in between. You also have local anglers like my self that are accomplished in both and it doesn't matter if they live on the left hand coast, the right hand coast, or some where in between.. What makes them the same is their understanding of the body of water they are on, the affects of weather patterns, water conditions, life cycle of the bass's prey, and how to use simple techniques effectively.

Cali Hawg Hunters vs Regular Bass Fisherman
Go to any tournament wed site, read the results, there are hundreds of anglers who get skunked. Bass fishing at any level is hit or miss :-? I've seen KVD, Clunn, Brauer, Nixon, Ike all of them skunked :-[

Cali Hawg Hunters vs Regular Bass Fisherman
To quote Mr. Hannon It takes a rare breed of fisherman using simple techniques to perfection to consistently catch big bass. There are a small percentage of anglers rather they are tournament anglers, hawg hunter, or weekend warriors that simply get it. They understand the effects of weather, water conditions, bait presentations, and the fish they are after. Far the rest of the anglers I'll quote Mr. Hannon again People often respond to failure and frustration by over-complicating theory and technique.

At Academy we can't sell a product unless it is in the box in which it came from the factory. I bought our display model Shimano® Chronarch® Mg for $124.95 8-)

That's why it's called fishing & not catching About the time you think you have them figured out they prove you don't :-?

Regional metabolic rates
I don't know how far south you're heading but with water temperatures in the mid 50's you're talking late pre-spawn. The bass will definitely be shallow and feeding up far the spawn, just about any technique should work.

New Stratos 176XT
Stratos's secret weapon is; Mr. Alan Stinson. A veteran many times over, Alan was not only the founder of Nitro Boats, which he sold off to Bass Pro Shops, but he was the designer of the well known Skeeter Starfire, and the world record holding Stratos 201 hulls. He has designed every hull Javelin Boats currently have in their production line up. These are the same hulls they have been running under Javelins for some time now. He also designed the proven 19, 20, and 21 foot Stratos SS hulls. Alan Stinson has designed every hull that Larry Nixon has fished from since 1976!

berkley lines - what's the difference?
It hard to find a comparison test that is not bias; Berkley will not say which is better in any way shape or form.
