Suffix Elite or Trilene XL
I think both of these are quality lines, but wanted everyone's opinion on which they preferred.

Strike King Sexy Swimmer
Just saw these at Dick's Sporting Goods and was wondering if anyone as used one yet? What depth do they run?

Need spinning rod suggestions...
Forget Mojo... I would say go Avid or Triumph and if you can swing the cash you won't be sorry with an Avid. I owned a Mojo and wasn't happy with it for my baitcaster and switched to Avid. i use triumph for my spinning setup... I like the feel I get out of the triumph and I have landed some monster bass with a 6' lite action... I would probably recommend a longer and stiffer rod, but the 6' lite is killer fun.

Need spinning rod suggestions...
I tell you; I have a St. Croix triumph attached to my Shimano Symetre and have found it fine as a spinning rod... so if you are looking for a low budget option the triumph is a nice spinning rod but I wouldn't suggest it for a baitcasting reel, because I never got enough feel in the baitcasting setup like I do with the Triumph spinning rod.

St. Croix "MOJO" casting rods what's the word??
I would say they are ok for the price... I recommend looking at Powell Max $139, E21 Carrot $150, or St. Croix Avid $179... The mojo is ok; I found the black foam at the bottom of the rod to not be very durable and prone to scratching so I don't see the rod lasting a long time... Not to discourage you about your new rod, but just letting you know my experience with the one I owned.

straight shank or EWG when flipping soft plastics?
I like Owner EWG hooks in red... haven't missed many fish with that hook.

new reel for an avid 7' m fast action???
it's out of stock but you could still order it and get the deal... it seems to me you would just get in when they got more in stock for the same great price. Bummer though... I must have ordered one of the last ones.

Avid, Powell, E21 Carrot, AiRRUS (or something to pair with my new MG51)
Thanks for all the killer feedback...

new reel for an avid 7' m fast action???
Dang... well what is your budget this will help with the choices.
-
Avid, Powell, E21 Carrot, AiRRUS (or something to pair with my new MG51)
I am a righty that prefers left hand reels... don't like all that hand switching when casting and reeling on a right hand set up. Just my preference.

Avid, Powell, E21 Carrot, AiRRUS (or something to pair with my new MG51)
So... I went with the Avid; 7' med/fast for $129 at ***.com thanks for the advice. I have seen so many great reviews on this board for the Avid that I know it will pair nicely with the Shimano Chronarch mg51 Thanks again

new reel for an avid 7' m fast action???
What's up bud... well I just ordered the Shimano MG51 from ***.com for $184 based on recs from this board... I would recommend that.

Avid, Powell, E21 Carrot, AiRRUS (or something to pair with my new MG51)
So if price isn't on option would you buy a carrot or avid... what do you like better?
-
Avid, Powell, E21 Carrot, AiRRUS (or something to pair with my new MG51)
So is the Avid deal at $129 new too good to turn down compared to the Carrot and Powell? As you can see I am having a hard time making up my mind

Avid, Powell, E21 Carrot, AiRRUS (or something to pair with my new MG51)
Thanks Tom, do you know the actual weight difference between the two? The Powell looks like is is constructed better... how have your Powell's held up? Right now I am leaning towards either the 7' med/fast avid for $129, the Powell Max $139 and E21 Original for $149... Very tough choices; anyone else have a vote?

Avid, Powell, E21 Carrot, AiRRUS (or something to pair with my new MG51)
Fishing for bass. Just kidding. On my baitcaster I typically throw: spinner, crank, and buzz... I typically favor a medium/fast setup because I tend to cast better with that setup... I am really interested in what is the best brand/rod available under $200 that can handle a variety of baits. thanks for the insight

Avid, Powell, E21 Carrot, AiRRUS (or something to pair with my new MG51)
The other rod I have heard a lot about on this board is the Avid... I found the AVC70MF for $129 at ***.com seems like a great deal over the typical $170 price. Sorry to hog the board with questions and comments

Avid, Powell, E21 Carrot, AiRRUS (or something to pair with my new MG51)
Two more rods to throw into the mix... 1) G. Loomis GL2 2) E21 Carrot So.. 1) Airrus Matrix 2) Powell Max 3) G. Loomis GL2 4) E21 Carrot Or any other top rec's under $200 in price...

Avid, Powell, E21 Carrot, AiRRUS (or something to pair with my new MG51)
Anyone ever used an AiRRUS Co-Matrix? I understand from tackletour.com that the rod is slightly heavier then high-end rods but for $89 on *** it seems like a great deal, at a great price, with super reviews. It was also best in show in 2002... I know a ton has changed from then. Want to pair a rod with my new Shimano MG51 that the board helped me with... The other rod I am looking at is a Powell Max Casting at $139... Thoughts?

Shaky Head Misses
Went out shaky head fishing today and got one good fish, but had two others shake the hook out when jumping out of the water... question is what type of line and what type of hook does everyone recommend. I currently use Spot Remover Pro hooks 1/8 oz and Trilene Maxx 6 lb test... do you think I may be missing fish because of line or hook or both or one or none?

Quick Question: Curado E7 or MG?
Good to hear; glad I didn't make an $184 donation... always looking for great companies and with solid advice from this board I am a grateful.

Quick Question: Curado E7 or MG?
Ordered from ***.com seems like a cool company... talked to someone on the phone and ordered online. Anyone ever buy anything from them?
