  1. Hey Mojo, i think your first problem might be that your from Canada.
  2. Id fish cajun line before i bought another box of Vanish. ;D GARBAGE
  3. 2 maybe 3 pounds on a good day. He looks like hed go 6 an half maybe 7.
  4. You will get Shimano Stradic from alot of people, and i would second that. You can find them at the flea market or on ebay for under 130. A lower priced option is a Pflueger Supreme for 100.00 it has a sealed drag and is an awesome reel.
  5. Don't complain about the net man, swing that thing in the boat.
  6. Id love to fish some small ponds from a tube, but where i come from you lose limbs doing that. This past spring i saw a gator 12-14 foot at a small, remote rock quarry. When he jumped in the water it sounded like somebody tossed a honda from a plane in there. ;D
  7. Try an Abu C4, quick retrieve is best when flipping.
  8. Setting the hook on single hook lures (Jigs, Soft plastics etc.) from a distance shouldn't be a problem if your using braid. If your not try a big sweep set, you have less power than an overhead, but you can gather more line, especially if you have a longer rod.
  9. Did it yesterday, threw a Yum Money Minnow for 3 hours. I was never a big swimbait guy, but needless to say im workin on gettin a swimbait rod now. I caught a a bunch of dinks a 3 and loss one next to the boat that was all of 5.
  10. Just use a Red Shad and get it overwith. ;D ;D I have had luck with motor oil finesse worms for smallmouth in gin clear streams in Tenn. I dont use it much down here.
  11. Trilene or Stren 100% (They are the same thing, made in the same factory) or XPS Flouro for leader, I found its stronger and more abrasion resistant, but less manageable.
  12. I like what the Volfan has to say. (Other than him being a Vol fan of course.) ;D ;D I look to embrace all the great tennessee traditions, like singin rockytop all nite long after we beat florida next year. Lane Kiffin what a bone head. Sorry about jacking the thread I had to do it
  13. Im not sure of the diameter but 4lb. CXX is overkill for panfish, i was landing 3 and 4 lb. small mouth in Tenn. this summer on 4lb. with a Fenwick UL. I even took that set up on the flats last week and landed multiple trout north of 20 in. small jacks, and one small snook. No BS that is some strong line.
  14. Ive been to 10 total (3 in Tenn. 3 in GA. 1 in Indiana and 3 in FL.) There not to shabby. And BTW New Angler that was clever. ;D
  15. IMO that ez spool on the box of PP is retarded. But thats just me, dodgeguy will be here in a minute to tell you to buy Fireline. Listen to him. ;D
  16. Poppers and Spooks I always use a Shad type pattern. (White belly with dark back). Buzzbaits white or black, and frogs I pretty much only use the Bronzeyes, in either white or ive caught probly 50 or 60 fish on the same frog in Green Tree color. ;D
  17. 45mph, 2-3 foot swells in a thunderstorm, water coming into my BPS Pond Prowler with a 30lb thrust minnkota. Needless to say I got out of there asap. ;D
  18. You'd be adding cover, not structure, to attract bass
  19. I caught a 25in. snook in a 10 or so acre pure freshwater pond around here. I see other people catch them all the time, snook that is, not tarpon.
  20. I saw that episode and he did say that Flouro had more stretch than mono, He stated that the reason we think mono has more stretch is because it has a rubberband effect, its like elastic. Flouro stretches more but doesn't bounce back like a rubberband like mono.
  21. I can straighten a lazer sharp EWG with one hand, can't do that with a Gammy or an Owner. You don't want to be pulling a fish out of cover and have the hook straighten and lose the fish, ive been there its no fun. ;D
  22. Youre puttin 15lb. line on a spinning rod?
  23. I was wondering if anybody on this forum paints reels for people, or if anybody knows of somebody that does do it elsewhere. Thanks
  24. I have a 725 Frog Rod that I like alot I just don't use it enough, It is for sale or trade. ;D ;D ;D
