  1. Went out today to a different little pond and finally caught some bass. In the end I caught five in two hours, the biggest being 2 lbs, while my brother went on and caught a 19" 3 lber. Fun day.
  2. By sometime next year, I hope to have the following setups, and their use is listed too. These two setups cover everything I fish. Mojo 6'8 MBS68MXF-Shimano Sahara 2500: Senkos, Trick Worms, Ikas, Tubes, Jigs, Finesse Fishing Shimano Compre CPCX70MHB-Shimano Citica: Jigs, Spinnerbaits, Carolina Rigs, Texas Rigs, 7 Senkos I'm pretty locked in on these setups, except maybe a Compre CPS-X68MB instead of the Mojo. I know I want Extra-Fast for the spinning rod, beacause the tip on MF action spinning rods drives me wild! I'm still lost on line. Thanks for looking!
  3. Youtube has a lot of great bass fishing videos, and we all have our favorites. What are yours?
  4. I love watching this video. The sound of the hookset makes me want to go fishing. The fish are really big. Anyways, I love Carolina Rigs. They're great in the Summer for me for big bass. My favorite platic for one is either a Zoom Magnum Lizard or a Brush Hog. What about you guys?
  5. Bahaha, the first time I used it, it wasn't all curled up, and was really good. Now it's just annoying. The Floroclear drives me nuts too.
  6. I have P-Line Floroclear (8 lb) on my Sahara 2500, and P-Line C-XX (15 lb) on my Citica. After one use, the C-XX is extremely coiled and a pain in the a** to fish. Sure I've bent flippin' jig hooks trying to get it un-snagged, but the coil drives me wild. The Floroclear just randomly breaks on hook-sets, casts, and one time in the middle of my retrieve. I really wanted to like the Floroclear, beacause it had little stretch and little memory (at least for me). The problem is, I just don't feel comfortable with it. It's kind of a confidence thing. I want to replace both of them. For the spinning set-up, Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft is my obvious choice. My Citica is where I'm lost. Should I get Yo-Zuri Hybrid? I REALLY like the co-polymer lines; they're cheap and have a lot less stretch than regular mono. I will mostly be using jigs and plastics, and some spinnerbaits. G
  7. Thanks for the input...... :-? Wierd.......
  8. Sam, when we go to the double secret pond, I'll bring some 7 1/4 in Stik-O's for us
  9. That is just one persons opinion. If you are a soft plastics person , the rod is every thing. True, but I catch a lotttt of fish, and all I basically use are plastics and jigs.
  10. Sorry.....had to stop in again How were you fishing the bait? What kind of Rod/Reel/Line? Depth? Presentation? Once again, nice fish!
  11. To be honest dude, there's no place on the web better than Bass Resource. You must me on something.
  12. Anybody have anything to say about the BPS soft plastics? I see they have a bunch of lures in one pack for a pretty good price. Anyone use 'em?
  13. I was wondering if you have a lure that sparks a good memory of a good trip, nice fish, or you just plain like the look of it. Even if you've never thrown it in your life. Mine would have to be a Texas-Rigged Lizard. I have caught some nice fish on them, and caught my first "well earned" big fish on one. Next would have to be a white spinnerbait. That used to be the lure I had the most confidence in, until I bought a jig

Hey guys, made my first "custom" skirt color today I'll call it "G's Special" ;D ;D
  17. I spend the money on a reel, not a rod. I really don't think you need a $400 rod to catch fish. Right now I'm using Lightning Rods, and am a happy man. But, I have a Citica 200e and a Sahara 2500 that I really love. As long as you keep a finger on your line, you don't need a top of the line rod.

Alright guys, have'nt been able to post a good report all weekend. So here it is Friday I went out for two hours, nothing much, biggest fish was about three pounds. Saturday I was on the James River all day guiding a catfish trip with Captain Mike Ostrander of the James River Fishing School. (Heckuva fun time) Sunday was raining the ENTIRE day. Even so...went out for two and a half hours. Right as I got there the rain stopped :-? Needless to say the fishing was waaaay slow. Actually got skunked ;D Sunday I fished a new pond pretty hard. Caught three on a spinnerbait.....and missed one. The fish I missed was in about a foot of water, and when it struck it's entire head came out of the water. This fish was a GIANT. I'll take a safe bet and guess 7+ Tried for another hour to get her, but came up empty. Yesterday I raked leaves the whole day So...moral of the story: DON"T EVER GUARANTEE BIG FISH!!! Here's my prediction for this weekend: I won't catch any fish at all. If I do happen to catch one it will be about 5-7 inches ;D ;D ;D How'd ya'll do this weekend?
  23. Great job bud. Real swell thing ya did here kiddo.
  24. Your the man! Thank you so much!
