  1. So for Christmas I'm asking for 2 $100 Bass Pro Gift Cards to get two new rods; one for jigs and one for Senkos, and finesse worms. The jig rod I want to be 7' and either MH or H. The Senko rod I want to be 7' MXF (I already know I'm gonna get a Compre ) I'm unsure about the jig rod though. I want a Powell 7' Mag-Heavy, but it's a bit more than what I want to spend. A good opt-out would be a 7' MH Lightining Shock to use with braid, and I would have a little bit of money left over. I've heard and experienced the Shock's are really really good for the money, plus good and sensitive, too. My brother has the 6'6" MH version, and I've used it but not to an extent. What would you guy's do? BTW, have you guys held the Shocks? They're incredibly light.
  2. Rick, How do you like the 7' Powell 705c? I see you have a Curado saddled up, and I have a Citica so they're basically the same shape. What do you use it for? I might be getting one soon. BTW, nice arsenal
  3. Instead of those choices, I've heard the Vendetta's are right good.
  4. I would post some pics, but I have a Citica 200e and a Sahara 2500, both mounted on Lightning Rods. Funny thing, I still catch fish!
  5. I have both, and they're my only two reels I use, besides a Diawa Tierra. They are both great reels. For the money they will give you more than what you payed for. I want to get rods in the same price range from Shimano, like the Compres. From what I have heard, the 6'8" MXF Spinning for is a good all-around rod, and a 7' MH Casting would do just about everything.
  6. Nice fish, awesome pics. What kind of camera do you have?

Haha Idk! Here's one... "I guess I could drink with strangers" He has a "badass line" in every movie, including Dirty Harry

Naked Gun "Strength and honor" "Brothers, what we do in life... echoes in eternity" both quotes are from the same movie Pearl Harbor? "Mr. Gambini, what was that word you just said?" "I said -whatever the other word was-" "No, no, before that, did you say 'yout'?" "I'm sorry, Y-O-U-T-H-E-S"
  9. Hahaha! I meant the right-handed one ;D ;D ;D
  10. I'll also be looking for one of these used in a while too. Any reviews, comments or thoughts would be great!
  11. Any reviews, comments, thoughts on this reel would be greatly appreciated. I might want to get a used one in the future.
  12. Nice fish! That's a Powell rod right? What model is it?
  13. My biggest was caught on a 1/2 oz. Black and Blue Booyah jig with a 4" Chigger Craw, matching color. Caught her on a cold, rainy day in about 4 FOW. 25 inches, 8.2 lbs. Second biggest, 24.5 inches, 8 lbs.
  14. I have a couple of goals. 1. I really want to catch a 5+ lb fish on my 5'6" Light, size 1000 reel combo. I'm about to get some 4 lb line for that That would be a new light line PB. 2. I really need to slow down when I'm fishing platics and jigs. I fish them way to fast and impatiently. 3. I want to catch my first 10! 4. If I have the time and money, I really want to learn how to crank. Any kind. 5. Live bait fishing 6. Learn more in-depth about Crappie fishing. I want to know a lot about it. 7. Use a Carolina Rig more for piggies 8. Upgrade my rods. I'll get a Compre spinning rod, Vendetta casting (or a Compre) and maybe a Powell Max.
  15. Stanley Finesse Jig, Deadsticking Senkos, and jigs.
  16. That. Sounds. Awesome. Boy you wanna talk bout awesome. These right here.......oh yes. Yes yes yes.
  17. Stanley 1/4 oz. Green Pumpkin Jig with a Paca Jr. Trailer. Good combo! Fish on a spinning rod, because you tend to fish slower and with a more finesse approach.
  18. Cool. nubasser what brand do you use?
  19. I'm bout to get a crappie setup, which is a 6' ML Lightning Rod, a 1000 size spinning reel and 4 lb line. The problem is I don't know what kind of line to get. What do you guys use?
  20. So? I'm personally lookin' at the Shimano Compre 6'8"MXF, and a Canon SX120 IS. Maybe a little TW Gift Card too ;D
  21. Yep. Totally agree. For a while I was using a Shimano Callisto and a $15 Shimano Spinning reel. Caught fish just fine.
  22. STOP IT!!! You catch so many monster bass. Nicefish. I completely agree with you on the thankfullness
  23. Why would you list it then, I believe you have been misinformed. I had Compre in both BC and spinning and I would not consider them whippy at all. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1258865175 Leo, I heard someone say HIS Compre was whippy. And I posted that before I heard that. Is the spinning 6'8" MXF a little stiff? That's what I want. I have a 7 foot MXF Spinning and a 6 ft 8 inch MHXF Casting. Bith are suitable for Jigs and Plastices so I would not say they are too whippy. Cool deal. Thanks. I'll probably end up getting the 6'8"MXF.
  24. The Mojo on your list is "extra-fast", so it will also feel whippy. Rod selection is a very personal thing, but if it were me I'd be looking for a fast-tip on a med hvy blank. Roger Have you ever fished an Extra Fast St. Croix? They are anything other than "whippy", that is if your defination of "whippy" and mine are the same. When I think of a whippy rod, I think of something like an Ugly Stick that has no backbone and is extreamly moderate in action, so much so that it shakes like a noodle. An ex. fast St. Croix is quite the oposite, it's pretty stiff, and has just the slighest amount of tip action. THANK YOU! That's what I wanted to know. I can stand slow action rods, the amount of time it takes them to load up drives me insane. Thanks for all the comments guys! RoLo, do you think I should get a MH? I still have no idea. I'm probably going to go with the Compre 6'8"MXF. Thanks again guys. Now what about the baitcaster? (considering I want a STIFF rod, not a lot of tip, but still sensitive)
