  1. It takes a few years but every year after christmas... take you old christmas tree and put it in a spot on a pond or a lake you fish. Me and a buddy did this for 6 years and only we new the exact spot. Always had fish on it! Caught a 12 lber on it with a crank bait too. After 6 years we had 12 trees in this one spot. The bass loved it.
  2. This is the canal on my home lake I fish.
  3. BRO... we gotta get our trip planned!
  4. It would seem to me that it may be chemicly enhanced? just seems oddly clear for Central Florida. btw... I will pm you my number so we can do it up man.
  5. If it matches water color and what is in the water... you are good to go.
  6. Who else here thinks that the watermelon seed brush hog is the best bait ever!!!?? I am currently using the "big" one and it has been producing pounds and high numbers. weightless, find cover, let er drop for a sec, and reel it in slow back to the boat. NEVER FAILS!!!
  7. Caught I nice one today in my secret spot... Buddy caught a bigger one but lost it by the boat.
  8. 9lbs 3 ounce No pics due to a female. GRRR!!!
  9. LOL... I take pics of anything over 2lbs. Until your buddy SAID he took the pic and didnt get it. Im not gonna even say how big it was lol
  10. didnt catch anything.
  11. I am going to try some dock fishing today. I fished docks for about an hour and a half and didnt get one bite last time. I fished them in the evening and with a slow moving weightless watermelon seed brush hog. Also, around the docks are mainly big Cypress stumps and bushes with a sandy bottom and ocasional fallen tree twigs. I know this cause I feel em when fishing my jigs. What should I use? Jig? Big worm? Brush hog? Also, I know I need to fish the shade but how? On the bottom? Top? Slow? Fast? Input would be great soon as I am getting out there in the next 2 hours and fishing to dark.
  12. When I was probably 6, I saw the bass pros using baitcasters and figured I should be doing the same so My dad got me one from walmart and I just continued to fish by myself with it and 20 years later, im a baitcaster pro. Get him in on it now. All the other reels are easy to get first time. Also get him a 6'0 m. And teach him to keep that reel out of the sand and dirt!!! Make him treat it like it's his favorite toy. Good luck brother.
  13. BPS Rick Clunn. The Revo's are a bit heavy for the price imo. The Rick Clunn will NOT disapoint you.
  14. BPS has some but eh... I have a BPS Johnny Morris reel. Are there any options for a custom handle? Or am I stick with BPS handles?
  15. Saying a bass has a bad memory in my opinion is totally wrong. Pretty much any animal can be conditioned to something. Tell me this guy doesnt remember when he gets to eat!!!
  16. I have a theory that it is similar to sharks. Bass are a 100% preditory fish and their bite will change due to what I believe is water temp, weather, presentation, color, and size. I also believe that it can change depending on the feeding situation presented. Like a shark when there is blood and meat around. Bass. after a rain or during a drizzle seem to go into a feeding frenzy and hit it all the bigger, louder, and more active lure. I also think they are smarter than we give them credit for. Well maybe not smarter but we "humans", have a lack of understanding just what makes these fish tick. Bass are usually always feeding and it is those days we get skunked that we wonder why. We need to figure out why they change their habbits of moving, depth, and bite so frequently. :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ Here in Florida, we are in warmer conditions most of the time and it changes day to day even when the weather is exactly the same as yesterday. Frustrating to say the least >
  17. I put one in the meat of my chin by my ankle. It was pooring rain and had to get out of the boat so I ripped it out without thinking. Alot of horrible aching but was fine.
  18. I well I fished the jig mid day yesterday and only caught one. Think it was too hot. Evening jig fishing or cloudy days seem to produce better size and numbers. This is the only bait that I am logging in my head. I am also finding that green/brown/rootbeer got more reaction than my green/purple/rootbeer kinda bluegill or brim lookin. The more natural color jig produced better so far.
  19. Rick Clunn is an amazing reel for the price. Fished one for 4 years then upgraded to the Johnny Morris Signature Series. My Rick Clunn has never skipped a beat bro.
  20. I do majority of my shopping at BPS. I live down the street from one tho so its easy for me. I would suggest in the future, to NEVER BUY GEAR WITHOUT TOUCHING IT FIRST. That will save you all your frustrations. Good luck man.
  21. I am IN! I have some Florida Secret Spot Mojo!!!
  22. NO!!! > > > My friend took 4 pics on my phone but didnt hit the "save pic" button. I was frickin pizzed. Now I have a digital camera on board the canoe. No excuses this time lol.
