out of curiosity
I have 2 rods and reels that I use. BPS Johnny Morris Signiature Series baitcaster 6:4:1 ratio, Shimano Carbomax 6'6 MH F -- spooled with 30lb braid and usually has a jig n trailer on it. I use this setup for fishing bottom in cover or in grass. Other is a BPS Johnny Morris Elite 6:4:1 ratio, 12lb Trilene XL, Team All Star 6'6 MH F.----This one is used for everything else. Swimming soft plastics, spinnerbaits, crank baits, and top waters. Then I just have a Quantum spinning reel and Lunker Stik rod I found on the shoreline of a lake with nobody around. I use that for saltwater and catfish. As far as adjusting the reel for heavier or lighter baits... I almost always have a big ole anaconda weitless on my JM Elite and doesnt need any adjustments. Once my reel is dialed in, anything heavier than an anaconda, sours gracefully through the sky like an eagle. Then hits the tree "S***!!! lol

Gear Ratio for soft plastics
I like to slow roll my softies. I choose a 6:4:1. With that ratio I can slow roll em and then burn it back to the boat around water I'm not fishing. I only fish shorelines and cover.

If you could have a lifetime supply......
super brush hogs.

Rage Tail Space Monkey
You can fish em all kinds of ways. I bought the rage lobsters for pitching and punching grass. I use the space monkey weightless and throw to cover, let it sit for a sec, then swim it back to the boat. They seem to be liking that so far. Less size than the anaconda bit a bit more bites and fish caught.

Fishing Heavy weeds - what line should I use? Help Needed!
I use 30lb Power Pro braid for weeds and cover. I would go heavier tho. 40lb and up just for extra security.

New Rage Tail line of baits.
You guys really think the rage hog will be better? Maybe a tad bit more action but idk... I LOVE rage tail soft baits but the new hog is almost the exact same thing as the zooms and twice as much! I would have to see them in action compared to the Zoom brush hog. All other rage tails I am sold on for sure tho.

Taking it to the next level
I consider myself a pretty good angler. Been bassin for 20 years. Yeasterday I went out and missed 7 fish. I would set the hook and not set it. I even had one to the boat and he came off some how. It happens.

Strike King Rage Tail Anaconda 10 inch
7/0 offset worm hook, normal style, and slow retrieve. I catch anything from 1/2lbers to 10lbers on the 10' Ana. Out of my 20 different kinds of soft plastics, the 10' Anaconda is #1. It is deadly. You can move it sooo slow and produces soooooo much action! Get ready.

BigO...rage tails???

Bass Digging In The Sand
I was pulling into my "secret" canal to fish and I was moving through there reeeal slow and noticed a HUGE 7-8 lb bass and it was digging with it's nose by a log and pushing around the sand. Was it trying to eat? Craw you think? I need to know as I have seen this twice in the same area and need to find out what they are sniffin after so I can replicate it and rip some lips! Why would a bass in shallow slow moving canal water do this?

New to lake fishing. Help
Fishing it alot will be the key. Find those spots that bass hang on, understand the food sources, feeding patterns, and basically feel it out. Once you fish it enough, you will get em. I have fished my new lake for 3 months and 90% of the times I fish, I catch at least a 3lber. I have noticed on my lake after dialing in everything else... the lake is either on or it's off. one day will be 7-8 fish in 4 hours, other days will be zero bites in 4 hours. Thats the only thing I dont have dialed in is why they are "off" on these days. I think it has something to do with rain. They seem to bite more when there hasnt been rain in a few days. :-?

Hang ups last night.....
If I dont loose an occasional lure, then I'm not fishing them right.

Shore fishing in August
Nice crank bait would work. Also give a super brush hog a go. Just cast it out and crank it back slow but not too slow. That usually always produces for me.

Brothers 1st LMB
sweet man. A good fishing buddy is hard to come by. They have to be a friend or family, fishing literate, and LOVE to fish! In a few month's he will have the sport by the "tail" lol. Awesome man. Have fun.

Punching Heavy Cover
It's an incredible techique! I was fishin with a buddy and came across a small section of pads and weeds. I had a 10' anaconda with a bullet weight on and said "he's in there watch this..." I didnt actually think I'de get hit but as soon as my worm went in those weeds... WHABAAAM!!! I caught a 7lber just joking around in some pads and weeds. They are in there man. They're in there. Heavy weight, really any good flippin plastic creature, worm, or jig, baitcaster with good drag, 7" and up mh or hvy rod to really get out front to work the bait, 40lb and up braided or 14lb up flouro line, and patience

Good line for crankbaits or spinnerbaits
I use mono for everything exept jig or bottom/cover fishing. I love the give mono has. I can really make hard hooksets and play the fish a bit more with mono. Landed a 10lber on 12lb mono. And he FAUGHT!
