  1. The FTC plans to look closely at the merger but expect it to close https://www.google.com/amp/www.wsj.com/amp/articles/regulators-raise-concerns-over-bass-pro-shops-cabelas-merger-1483104924?client=safari
  2. Shaky Head I use Hags Tornado, weightless GY Senko wacky, TX Rig Power Worm, Drop Shot Roboworm or Hags Tornado
  3. I'd recommend a 4" Senko wacky rigged. Try different, slow retrieves. 1. Let it sit then drag it slowly on the bottom. 2.Let it sit then hop it, then let it sit, then hop it. 3. Let it sit then do a slow retrieve off the bottom with an occasional jerk, like a Swimbait.
  4. I throw a Keitech 3.5" Swing Impact on a light jig head beyond the fry and swim it slowly through them. Usually gets a strong hit. I use a spinning set up for this.
  5. Looking for a 6'10" to 7' spinning rod to throw small soft swimbaits like a 3.5" Keitech Swing Impact or a super fluke Jr Can I use an extra fast tip rod? Or should I go fast tip?
  6. One word..Online...Two words Tackle Warehouse
  7. Line has something to do with feel also. I use either 12# Seagur Invizix or 30# power Pro braid with a 12# Seagur Invizix leader for T-Rigs and Jigs. I pond fish so not a lot of laydowns
  8. I have two Lews Tournament Lite Speed Spools I like. They have an updated model but I can't find any feedback. It's called the Lew's Tournament Lite G Speed Spool ACB Casting Reel. Can anyone provide some feedback on this reel?
  9. I'm looking for a finesse baitcaster. I read about this Daiwa model Daiwa SV105 Customer reviews say it casts light baits very well. Can any members provide some feedback on It? It seems to not have the T-wing but rather a standard line guide.
  10. Looking at both these reels for light 1/8-1/4 tungsten T Rig plastics and 1/4 oz jigs on a 7' MH fast rod. I can get them both for about the same price on an auction site. Any recommendation for one over the other would be appreciated. It seems the Tournament Lite G Speed Spool is a very new model.
  11. I have used Silver Thread AN40 for years when I don't use fluorocarbon on a bait caster. In addition, if you use a spinning reel for drop shot or finesse this stuff is fantastic. It's very thin and I have never, and I mean it, never had a line twist problem. It is also very abrasion resistant. I use 6# on the spinners and 8# on baitcaster. http://www.lurenet.com/silver-thread-an40-filler-spools
  12. Hags Tornado You can find them at TW. They stand straight up and have really cool colors.
  13. This ^^^^ in Watermelon Orange I like to drag it on the bottom too.
  14. Hags Tornado worm floats
  15. I use braid to fluoro with no slack. I tend to reel it in verrrry slow with slight jerks and will usually feel the tap, tap. If I bounce it off the bottom I'll either feel the tap or the line might start moving to the side.
  16. I spray the filler spool with KVD line conditioner and let it sit overnight. Spool it on off the top of the filler spool to over the top of the reel. Hold the line between thumb and forefinger for some tension while filling the reel. I always spool it coming through all my rod guides. Fill to 1/8 from the top. Tighten the tension knob with the lure/plastic you are going to use on your line. Set your brakes. Never had a problem with it spooling off with no cast. Good luck.
  17. Hags Tornado- The worm stands straight up and the colors are great. I use the 5" and it is also a fabulous drop shot bait.
  18. I get most of my hits on frogs on cover close to the shore, some in deeper water in my pond which might be only 7' at most.
  19. I like to walk the dog with hollow body frogs across any kind of cover real early or at dusk.
  20. If there is any cover like grass or lily pads I would throw a hollow body frog early. If the overflow has some concrete I would throw a wacky Senko or swim super fluke Jr. on a jig head
  21. I fish mostly clear banks when using hollow body frogs. Some might have slight weeds but it is usually clear water. I have been using 17# mono but lately have been missing more than before. I read a lot about using braid with frogs and am thinking of switching. Should I use Stright braid or braid to a mono leader?
  22. Silver Thread AN40 6# on my 3 spinning rigs. Never get line twists and it ties strong knots. Tried fluoro but got line twists on every 5-6 casts; hated it. Silver Thread casts a mile too.
  23. Excellent for the price...I have one with 17# mono for hollow body frog and it casts a mile
