Whopper Plopper rod help
I have a 7’ Falcon Original Med Mod baitcaster rated 1/4-1/2. Would this be suitable for a 90 & 110 or should I go to a MH Fast 1/4-3/4? I don’t fish cranks that much so the Falcon is just sitting and I want to use it if I can. Any other suggested uses for the Falcon?

Brakes on baitcast reel don't seem to work
This^^ I saw a video that said set brakes to 0 then adjust the spool tension to drop the lure from a 45 degree angle until the spool stops spinning when it hits the ground. As you fish, adjust the brakes for wind, weight of the lure, etc.

Gopher Tackle
Thanks but as I mentioned in my post I have called them many times. Left 4 voice mails (old school) but lots of times their message says memory is full. Obviously, since I can leave a message at times, they get the messages. But never a call back.

Dobyn's Sierra SA 692 SF Rod Overview
Small suggestion to help I the future. If you take advice from all the opinions on here for equipment and then make a decision, go to Tackle Warehouse site. They carry about everything and will save you the car trip. Their customer service is top notch. Just got a rod that had a broken tip (thanks UPS) sent it back (prepaid label) and got a replacement They have great sales around many big holidays like Xmas, The Fourth, Memorial Day, etc. That Sierra you got is awesome

Want to make sure I got the right rods
St Croix combo is perfect I use one similar for wacky worms, light Jigs and Texas Rigs, shaky heads, even Keitech swing impacts Throw some 10# braid with a 6-8# Fluoro leader and go have some fun

My spinning reel had issues
Also make sure you close the bail manually otherwise you'll eventually get line twist

Daiwa Tatula - Type R vs. SV TWS
It feel lighter because of all the air holes. Weight of the spool is 11g line capacity according to the seller is 6# 100m, 8# 80m, 10# 60m I put Invizix 8# on it and have plenty of line It's not going to cast a mile because it's a finesse spool so I use it with lighter baits but it gets them out there.

Bank Anglers
I sometimes fish small neighborhood ponds (no woods) which will occasionally get a lot of algae just below the surface in spots My pond rigs are a MH/XF baitcaster for wacky rig; ML/XF spinning for Ned Rig; MH/F Baitcaster for jigs and Frogs; M/F spinning rig for Keitech swim baits and rooster tails; MH/F baitcaster for TRigs I have 2 MH/F bait casters because one has a reel with braid and the other one has fluoro I only bring 2, maybe 3, with me depending on conditions and don't use crankbaits since the fish seem to not respond to them.

Daiwa Tatula - Type R vs. SV TWS
If you already have a Daiwa you might be able to modify it by getting an aftermarket finesse spool. I have a Daiwa Tatula 100H and found a finesse spool for it on the internet auction site brand new for $34.95 It came from Hong Kong in about 12 days with free shipping. It works great for finesse fishing. Casts a wacky a mile and you really have two reels. Brakes well with virtually no backlash once tuned Look up NEW DAIWA TATULA CUSTOM HONEYCOMB SPOOL on the auction site. The seller actually emailed me to ask what color I wanted!

Ned Rig Topics
When I type Ned into the search box, with or without parentheses I get no articles. How can one find past articles on the Ned Rig now? I'm not a computer person ?
