yes buy them!!!!i use dt's and lc cranks. they work very well.
  2. i fish a very similar format to snapshot's description. i have also learned by leaps and bounds and have broken through the plateau i felt i had.
  3. ive used them to skip under docks....they do prevent the plastic from sliding up as easily, but to me it didnt seem that big of a difference.
  4. i am just curious if the spf sunscreen/spray have any effects on fish biting...maybe it is obvious to some, but i am not sure.
  5. well you will never know if you never try it out. if they are spitting it out before you set the hook, then maybe it is another issue, but try it first, what do u have to lose...cept maybe a few fish initially...haha
  6. in my opinion, if drinking may affect others on the water, then one shouldnt drink. i think its as simple as that. if you operate the boat dont drink, and if you are a passenger or shore fishing just dont drink to the point where your behavior may affect others.
  7. senko for me, i feel that you get more bites and you also get quality bites. just move up to a 6" one if you want quality bites only.
  8. my biggest was about 4 lbs...i think they catch many decent sized fish, but my largest ones have been on other stuff.

i use the spinnerbait box they have. it does the job pretty well
  10. cabelas has a thing to hold 8 rods and reels up to 7ft. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0023214016555a&navCount=2&podId=0023214&parentId=cat20325&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat20166-cat600034-cat20325&catalogCode=UJ&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20325&hasJS=true
  11. so lame....i would have bought a few if i could get the sunglasses...
  12. would the sunglasses offer be valid if we got the reel on sale??
  13. maybe try a larger size? or is it already 2" plus crankbait?
  14. the small cranks/topwater would probably benefit from a slower tip, a fast is probably a better choice. so there is some delay in hookset and the aftermath of playing the fish general soft plastics might be better with xf so that there is a little better control and feel. granted all this is relatively minimal, but that might help out a little bit
  15. good ol' ***.com has them too
  16. yesssss....positive reframe:D
  17. t-rig/jig to those laydowns maybe spinnerbait, weightless senko lipless crank over the grass beds or a crank of appropriate depth those are my guesses at what might work
  18. what advantage does the longer rod have? casting distance? or something more
  19. Ive used an extreme rod for many years and I felt that it was a great rod and a huge jump between the bionic blade. It is relatively lightweight and sensitive especially for the price. Also since you are getting it as a combo, the deal is great.
  20. i like the zoom plastic smells and the coffee smell form strike king isnt bad despite not drinking coffee:P
  21. its a small club tourney so i doubt anyone else is fishing it. thanks for the info though, i will do my best to research the wing dams when i get there. just a question what types of cranks do you use and at what depth? i was thinking of using lipless and cranks 6 feet and less.
  22. just curious at what dollar amount do they give away their free t-shirts?
  23. another possibility is the owner wacky hooks in size 1. they have worked well for me. i might have to try the weedguard gammys for fishing around docks...
  24. i have a tournament coming soon on this part of the river. i have never been there, neither has my non boater. from what i have garnered from other club members it will be relatively shallow and there will probably be lots of frog fishing cover and maybe some relatively shallow water cranking. i couldnt find a topo map on lake link so i have no idea the depths of this place. any advice on how to approach practice the day before? what techniques would work well on the river system? anyone suggest fishing the eddies around the wingdams. just any advice would be great haha.
