  1. is 15lb test wayyy too light for froggin in pads? fish are going to be 5lbs and under. should i go for braid or will this be sufficent?
  2. just curious is 15% usually as high as they go for sale discounts?
  3. reading the thread below made me wonder how you all organized your plastics? Do you shove them into Plano 3700s or the like, or do you put them into binders, or something else? Also with spinnerbaits what do you guys do to organize them. The Plano 3700s are too shallow, and the deep box ones are just bulky and hard to fit into a bag. Thanks for any suggestions.
  4. sorry to hear that:T just never take him fishing again:D lesson learned

lets say we have a t-rig tube/creature and a jig w/ trailer. does one have any distinct advantage over the other? i cant really think of any and i wonder if there are scenarios where one is used over the other.
  6. ive caught fish using a dropshot in 3-5 feet of water. it works well, but just shorten the distance between the lure and the weight.
  7. i asked one of the sales rep at the store about the 60 day deal and they basically straight up told me that they wouldnt honor it and even the employees had difficulty convincing the store to let them do it...interesting to hear the discrepancy
  8. to be fair, we had fish that could have beat gp's record, such as the one mark weakley foul hooked. not to mention the top 18 are all from the states i believe. 19th went to japan's previous record.
  9. im gonna second the fact about walmart carrying no fishing stuff....i should go check it out again, but last time i looked...there wasnt anything
  10. clear water: watermelon/pumpkin/natural colors murky water: junebug/black/dark colors following those general colors is what i generally try to do. helps keep my plastics relatively manageable
  11. yeah this emergent vegetation does go to an edge and then the milfoil stuff starts growing below the surface. also when i do use something on the bottom like a jig, i already have to cast beyond the 8-10 foot or are you saying i should use a jig and work from around the edge of the emergent vegetation towards me?
  12. very interesting, thanks for the input:)
  13. when comparing a heavy power rod versus a medium power rod the heavy power rod is usually a lot thicker. is this due to more material there to make the rod stiffer overall? if this has been talked about already sorry ahead of time.
  14. i personally dont mind, but i have had no issues with quantum. as with the gear ratio probably 6:3:1 or something of that like. a overall rod would probably be a 6'6" to 7' rod in mh would probably be the best bet.
  15. so i fish this small lake that has emergent vegetation all around for the most part 10 feet away from shore. after that there is milfoil growing up to about 3-4 feet below the surface. the overall lake is pretty shallow probably 6 feet usually with 8-10 feet probably being the deepest. beyond the vegetation there isnt much wood cover and there is one stretch of bank that has riprap. how would you guys fish this lake. i have tried a weightless senko casting it out and twitching it above the milfoil. i cant really cast crankbaits cuz they would dig into the emergent vegetation. i also feel that anything on the bottom would be pretty useless too since it just falls into the 4 feet tall mats of milfoil.
  16. for the same price as the mojo a compre would be a more even comparison. on that note i felt the compres are more refined, but thats just my opinion. plus lifetime warranty is better than 5 years:D *edit* i realize there are no 7' heavy for compres....
  17. i read that you can fish them for 60 days for free, has anyone done that? i was thinking of giving them a try especially if i can return them without hassle.
  18. i cant see it!!!! it looks like the swamp monster:P good job there:)
  19. wow awesome job:D congrats
  20. what techniques do you use on this rod?
  21. i personally feel the 1-3 year warranties are too short, even the 5 year ones are short. i have a rod that i still use that is 6 years old and is getting to the point where the glue holding the guides on the rod have dried up so my guides can go around and around my rod....and since it was only a 1 year warranty from bps...im out of luck:T... granted if your disposable income allows for changing rods every few years, then i guess its a moot point, but for me a lifetime warranty is one criteria for rods i am going to buy oh and kind of answering your question most rods beyond a 5 year warranty jump to a lifetime warranty so for all intents and purposes i do require a rod with a lifetime warranty
  22. do they ever go on sale? specifically do the curados ever go on sale? i heard from a cabelas sales rep that they dont.
  23. pics posted:) also i noticed that this might be the exact same fish as the one in my profile picture. i caught it on a rat-l-trap last summer from the same area. the reason why i say this is because the bottom part of its tail is slightly deformed just like the one i caught this year. not to mention its slightly bigger than the one from last year.
