  2. I just use a screw in bullet weight and a superline EWG Gammy 4/0 hook. But yes, they have there time and place where they outfish everything else.
  3. From the few experiences I have had using other peoples Abrasx is that is it very comparable to Invisx in the strech department
  4. That looks pretty good to me...As far as rattles, the only time I like to have rattles is when I am throwing deep deep water jigs or in low light conditions..IMO it just helps the fish track the jig a little better.
  5. ^Sweet beavers aren't meant to have a lot of action, but excel when the fish want subtle presentation - there are much better options when fish are on a reaction bite...I tend to fish beavers on a shaky/football head VVEERRYYY slowely on a deep summer pattern or when the water temps cool down.
  6. Also take a look at Seagur Invizx..This was the first flouro I started using and have never had a reason to switch..The line has great strength, low memory, and smooth castability.
  7. Berkeley Tournament Craw. The only replacement I have found to make me feel better about them being DC is the 3" crazy legs chigger craw.
  8. Pre-rapala wiggle warts - especially the bone color
  9. Caught some of my biggest muskies on a white/red color Ike
  10. You definitly didnt waste your money, that might be the deal of the century in fact. I have NEVER had an issue with breaking dt's due to the fact that I a) don't slap them on the water to get weeds off I dont fish them very often in rocks. Since the dt series has come out, it has been one of my top producing cranks I have ever used - throw the bait with confidence and you should be just fine.
  11. Thanks for all the replies...Right now I use the cane thumper, skinny dippers, and EZ Shads, but really wanted a more defined bluegill/perch pattern... Skeet22, out of everything I have seen so far, Bitters has the best baits (say that 10 x) and I will be giving them an order for sure. Thanks, VC
  12. Of course the reel I have been waiting on a good sale for and I miss it...Just my luck
  13. KevO, you're a few weeks too late; I sold mine two weeks ago.
  14. I think I know which one you are refering to, and no not yet...soon enought it will take over the fishing world, so we need to enjoy it before the fish addapt to seeing them all day
  15. Curado e7. The shimano line is built to last, they are very light, and smooth. The 7:1 gear ratio will allow you to pick up line quickly when you get a hit.
  16. Had one, but it was WAAYYY too slow for me. I am now using a 5:1
  17. I would try and get a Citica instead...There is a guy on Texas fishing forum that is selling one for $60
  18. Thanks again for the advice. Like I said I have never used the avid series, and a lot of my H rod would work for a spinnerbait rod, so thanks for clearing that up!
  19. Northstar hair jig, damiki hydra, or lake fork ring fry wacky rigged.
  20. BobP, I have always thrown MH
  21. That is not what I wanted to hear, but thanks for the input guys.
  22. Hey guys, I have yet to fish the Avid series and I wondering whether they are under or over powered. I am looking to replace my spinnerbait/swimjig setup and found a good deal on the AC7OHF model. Let me know if you have experience with this rod and if it would be a good fit! Thanks, Nick
  23. I use them all the time! They are a good alternative to sweet beavers when the bass want a more subtle action.
  24. Thanks Bird Dog, Yeah I am looking for a similar bait to the skinny dipper. I will definitely look in the morelures products and see whats going on in the tackle making forum! I do have a few of the mattlures swimbaits, but they don't get hit hard in this part of the country.
  25. That is odd that they switched the color, why not just keep it the same? Now you are going to have some unhappy customers wondering what was wrong with the first edition!
