Cutting cork
if your going to use a razor blade be d amn sure not to knick or cut into the blank.id shape out the detail you want with a scalpel or hobby knife then sand it smooth with a very high grit paper then seal the cork and put some epoxy on the newly exposed rod. and then let us know how she turns out..post pics

Slower gear ratio really more powerfull?
its like my motorcycles,my sportbike i have geared low ratio for more pulling power and speed off the line (torgue) GREAT for wheelies ... my fatboy i have geared higher for more topend speed and cruising, same for cars and your reel...a lower gear ratio is more for toque and pulling power, strength but no high top end speeds...a high ratio you get less power/torque but gain in topend speed.

Help me pick a new bait caster
well..the brand new revos coming out are ugly as sin...as for pfluegre...those and abu garcia are hand in hand now.dont remember who bought who but both abu and pflueger are made from the same company now.i love my citica 200e and 08 model revo sx's.but i have heard positive things about the new pflueger presidents and have only handled one in store(not fished) it feels solid and smooth,if i had the need for one i would def. buy one of those but my next reel is going to be the pflueger patriarch that thing is amazingly smooth and a dream reel imo.

question for the rod builders...
just curious...is it possible and can you paint the cork on rods? not like the entire handle cause i know that would evently come off in your hands.but what i wann do is paint the butts/caps different colors for certain setups so they are easier to go to rather then go through the collection.and if so is there a certain paint to use or brand and should i use a cork sealent b4 painting? and if so if they can be painted what would i coat the paint with, reg. clear coat? thanks in advance fellas

daiwa icast
FishDontLikeMe1301600221 replied to FishDontLikeMe1301600221's topic in Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, and Knotssame price as curado to,i love both shimano and daiwa but guess daiwa saw shimanos huge success in the new curado and made something for the daiwa ppl to go against the curado with.but for the daiwa fans that reel would look even more amazing with a little ITO tune up (new handle, drag star and grips) wouldnt doubt if a ITO jdm version will be in the makes some time soon.7.3 though thats crazy fast your lure would be back to you b4 your even ready for it.whats next?

daiwa icast
saw this on tt and i like it alot, pretty sweet looking the Aggrest mid. price of only $180. said to be available in weeks after icast, cant wait ima get me some!!! Aggrest will be available in both right ad left hand retrieves and the reel weighs in at 7.6oz. with a line capacity of 12/150, 14/125 Creating the speed is a massive, helical cut drive gear pushing a phosphor bronze pinion gear at a 7.3 to 1 ratio. The helical cut of the gear teeth (cut at an angle) are designed to deliver smooth winding and even transmission of winding energy. To ensure adequate winding power, six ball bearings firmly support the drive train within a rigid aluminum frame.

need some rod help
FishDontLikeMe1301600221 replied to preemptive strike's topic in Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, and Knotsthe longer the rod the farther youll get yer bait thrown out there, the shorter youll have more accuracy. also in lengths it has to do with backbone, strength, the load/action.but for general fishing what your doing id go 6'6" and med is good but mh is an all pourpose go to..good for lunkers, topwater, jig n pigs in weed pockets, slop cover.

problem,Team Daiwa TH100 Pro
x2..but dry it out first then strip down clean off all old grease and get all oil off then regrease and oil and reassemble and you should be good to go,but make sure to dry everything off.use a hairdryer and if you want once you break it down let the parts all sit in a bowl of rice overnight to soak up all liquid dampness and mositure. ive never thought about doing that. it works wonders lemme tell ya youd think you have all water mositure etc. out of there but add some rice and the next day youll find some rice all wet and water logged,i do it everytime i clean and wash my reels b4 i relube and oil them every season.its like having new reels all over again.ive also used in on cell phones that take a dive in the lake when grabbing fish.dont turn the phone on (thats what shorts it out)open it up and add some rice and let it sit there for a day or two and tada,,works again.
