  1. Mono is probably the best jack of all trades line. It doesn't do most things the best but it does everything ok. Braid and fluoro both have limitations that don't make them good for certain techniques. Copoly might work also as long as you have one that floats well for topwater. There isn't a single size that would be good for everything though.
  2. If you did the Pepsi challenge with a 2 piece rod and the same model in a 1 piece, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Don't glue it.
  3. I prefer most casting rods to have a handle in the 10"-11" range, measured from the butt end to where the reel seat starts. I usually cast with 2 hands and that length fits how I cast without being too long and getting in the way. TW lists handle lengths on all the rods they sell, measured from the butt end to wherever the reel seat/foregrip stops. I'm not sure what you mean by the "U shape" but you can probably figure out something based on TW's measurements. Also, I don't think what hand you cast with has anything to do with handle length.
  4. This reminded me of the goofy emails my grandpa used to forward me back 10 or so years ago before he passed away. Thanks for the memory and the smile.
  5. I haven't the slightest idea, I was way too young to remember.
  6. D&R Sports, KVD's brother's place used to carry them, probably still do.

How exactly would a magnet get a lure unsnagged? I could see if your line broke on the cast or something but if hooks are stuck in wood a magnet isn't going to pull them out.
  8. If I could only fish one it would be the 7/16ths.

Yeah, this isn't a big deal for Kraft, other than the embarrassment he may or may not feel. Sex trafficking is a huge, disgusting problem but that won't fall on Kraft. He had nothing to do with that. Supposedly there is a bigger name than Kraft caught up in this that hasn't been released yet.
  10. Big Bite Baits Swimming Mama
  11. That's why those boats have 2 live wells. ?
  12. 12-17 pound fluoro, depending on what rod, bait and cover, another vote for Sniper.
  13. I'm not 100% sure whether they have to fish the whole series this year. That's how it's always been in years past but it's possible they changed it.
  14. I assume you mean MLF? The Opens have always had the win and your in, as long as you fish the complete Open series. Those guys were all in TX so they probably just stayed to fish the Open.
  15. Cranking is a technique where you can get away with a cheaper rod because sensitivity isn't nearly as important as in a bottom contact rod. Look for something with a mod or mod fast action in whatever length and power is appropriate for the baits you plan to fish.
  16. No idea, it isn't something that is talked about much. BASS allows anglers to share information with each other but not get outside information.
  17. This isn't a new thing that MLF just came up with. BASS has no information rules and lakes are off limits for a month before a tournament. The only way to enforce these and many other rules is with lie detector tests and that is what they do at all levels where large amounts of money are involved.
  18. Dang, nice work!
  19. Congratulations to Paul Mueller! I had a good tournament finally. Up next, the Classic starting March 15th. It will be the last BASS tournament for the guys that left, for a few years at least.
  20. You're right, I didn't even think about that and their next tournament will be the Classic in TN next month. Forgot to mention Jeff Sprague also, he's finished in the top 10 in the first 2 events.
  21. Edwin finishes 2nd and 1st in the first 2 events and Jordan Lee finishes 1st and 6th. Those two guys are as hot as anyone in fishing right now. Pretty awesome.
  22. Wow! Edwin just ended it with an 8 lber!
  23. Edwin has separated himself again, I hope he can keep it going.
  24. I normally use a 7'3" med fast casting rod with 12lb fluoro.
  25. I hope I never see the Brandon Palaniuk Huk commercial again, geez
