Best Solvent to Flush Bearings
I broke down and bought an ultrasonic cleaner. A good one is about $100 or so on Ebay but you can get smaller cheaper ones, just not sure how well they work. It is one of the best fishing purchases I've ever made. I put the bearings in a small glass jar with acetone and then into the cleaner, works amazingly well. I also use it to deep clean entire reels, (taken completely apart) and various other household items. I use a mix of Simple Green and distilled water for things that aren't bearings.

Cost to regrip rods
I think you mean Falcon Lowrider rods. To answer OP's question, I'm not sure what it would cost but regripping a rod generally means removing the guides and reel seat. The grip goes on from the tip end. It would not be worth doing on a $100 rod. But as CroakHunter mentioned, I would look at the Falcon Lowrider series if you want cork.

Bass Pro Tour Live kick off
This has been an awesome week as a fan! This format is so exciting to watch, can't wait for the next one. Congratulations to Jordan Lee!

Jordan is running away with it! It's going to take a couple of big fish in the last 45 minutes to catch him.

Using the same rods and reels
I've never felt like it makes much difference. I use Daiwa and Shimano reels and have no problem switching between the two. With rods, they are going to be different lengths and different weights and will feel different regardless of brand. Plus, half the fun for me is using and trying out different gear.

Do folks still use this pistol grip style rod?
You could try it out for small poppers or jerkbaits, if you like it and want to use it, use it.

I'm not really sure, I thought that was the plan also. Maybe they meant everyone will have a camera in their boat at least once during the week.

No, each boat doesn't have a camera guy. They sent Rob Newell out to find Connell but I guess he never did. When Marty Robinson went on his run the other day he was being filmed from another boat from a distance. Jordan Lee had a camera guy get in with him during the 2nd period today. They definitely don't all have cameras but I'm sure the final 10 will tomorrow.

I'm sure that they would obviously prefer that they didn't curse but I doubt there is any kind of rule about it, if there were I'm sure guys would be more careful. I don't think they always know when they're on live. I remember a few years ago at the Classic on Grand Ike infamously cursed out a dog that was barking at him. It happens.

Are cheap bait casters reliable in tournaments?
Black Max reels aren't nearly as smooth or refined as higher end reels but I don't think they are going to fall apart on you during a tournament. I would much rather have that than nothing at all.

Connell has caught over 34 pounds in the last 45 minutes to take the lead!

The end of this 3rd period is going to be interesting. 8th place through about 13th are within a pound and a half or so of each other.

Did switching to flourocarbon get you more bites?
I use fluoro on most of my casting set ups but it doesn't have anything to do with visibility. I feel like it gives me the best bite detection, abrasion resistance, connection to the bait (no huge bow) and enough stretch to keep fish hooked up. Braid has no stretch, floats and doesn't transmit vibration while slack. I feel like all three of those things are negatives the vast majority of the time. I only use braid for heavy vegetation and some topwater.

Another awesome day, can't wait for tomorrow when I can actually watch all day.

That was awesome! You just knew somebody was going to catch one at the last minute to move up, no surprise it was Jordan Lee, that dude is something else.

Kelly Jordan caught 3-13 on the first day and is in 5th place with 46-04 so far today!

Bass Pro Tour Live kick off
Yesterday Swindle squeezed a fish in between his knees to settle it down while he was sitting down, JT said, "There's a 2 minute penalty" and the boat official didn't penalize him. I'm sure they will iron it all out but I have noticed some inconsistencies too.

Some cool Blade baits
Those look awesome!

Bass Pro Tour Live kick off
I haven't been able to watch every second of Live but I have watched quite a bit both days. I would love to hear more from the anglers and I think they did a better job of that today. That said, I think JT and Marty are really good as commentators, I've enjoyed the first two days.

Most big tournament organizations utilize polygraph tests to make sure the winners didn't do anything they weren't supposed to do, I'm sure MLF will be no different.
